Especially when it is done with a great race winning attack and a little bit of courage. Well played FerronGood to see a youngster get his first world tour win.
You know it's a lame Dauphiné when Total win two stages...
Thanks for the recap. Not surprised he didn't want to close the gap either but eh that's bike racing I guess.Bagioli was working more than most and then when Ferron attacked inside the final km the rest of them left it to Bagioli to close to the gap but he decided not to.

Great win for Ferron, not so great from his breakaway companions. To be fair, I can understand initially bluffing to make Bagioli chase, but once it was clear that he wasn't going to catch him they really should have woken up. Watching them look at each other with 300m to go was comical.
It’s great entertainment!I hope people who support the breakaway versus the peloton in such stages remember this.
It happens way too often, i.e. the breakaway gets mugged by one guy who times the attack right whilst the others play silly games. It's not good entertainment.
I prefer a bunch sprint.

Disagree: it is the game of bluff, and gambling on who will make an effort, that makes cycling so different from any other endurance racing event.I hope people who support the breakaway versus the peloton in such stages remember this.

I've been watching this stuff since the mid 1990's & no, I don't enjoy cosy breakaway wins. Never did.

Yesss, this so much.I've been watching this stuff since the mid 1990's & no, I don't enjoy cosy breakaway wins. Never did.
Give me the heart stopping drama of a bunch sprint going into the final few km's (preferably with some hapless breakaway guys caught almost on the line) any day over the stage we just witnessed.
I missed the punching incident
It happened at ~10km to go first

So Molano disqualified for punching Page. Apologized after.
Who was the UAE rider that went to calm him down?
