In case Colbrelli-Roglic, I would say, after watching the video multiple times, that Colbrelli tried (and succeeded) to make Roglic crash so hard that it influences Roglic’ health for the further TdF.

From time to time, riders do that to other riders.

It actually never has consequences such as punishment by the authorities. Even when Theo Bos took down Impey from his bike (really extreme scenes; I never saw something like this before or after), it had almost no consequences for Bos. It‘s an issue about which there is not much talk. Offenders and victims both stay silent, normally. I suppose that works like this because the guys know they have to race against each other still on the next day…

Nobody has ever done anything like what Bos did.

Of course Colbrelli didn't do anything on purpose.

Didn't you watch the Giro?

I did watch the Giro and I don't really understand the point you are making.

I also watched the Tours of Norway and Hungary. It'd be fun if a thermonuclear TGH and Eddie 'Merckx' Dunbar turned up at the TdD and stomped Roglic and co into the ground, but I just don't see it.

Welcome to the CN forum, now home to the most conspiracy theorist fanboying this side of 'actually, Pantani never tested positive for doping'.

In a completely unrelated thread.

Now the route and field of the Dauphiné aren't terribly inspiring but surely there's better stuff to talk about here...
Like how the legendary wheel sucker Enric Mas will come from nowhere and take overall honors.

Think BEX have pulled the wrong string sending Groenewegen to the Dauphine - Reckon there is only one confirmed stage in which he will make the final. Groenewegen would have been to ride the Brussels Classic and Slovenia - Matthews would be more valuable at the Dauphine.

Yes I don't know what they're thinking here.

Yep. Especially considering how weak the sprinting line-up is for Brussels. Probably only Merlier in the same tier as Groenewegen.

No problem. I was being sarcastic. However, there is something to consider when talking about contenders because we can always have someone coming out of nowhere (or at least unexpected) to surprise us.

No worries. I suspect Ineos are giving somebody the opportunity to step up and prove themselves which is different to their usual approach in high profile races.

Although Sky/Ineos’ approach to this race changed the pattern for a time, it’s not usual for a top Tour favorite to finish below top step of the podium here.
Yes it’s a training race for these guys. I thought we all understood this after Iban Mayo ? If Roglic wins this after his troubles I will be surprised. I say this as someone who would like to see Primoz avenge the 2020 TdF outcome.
