Chaves and Guerreiro ended up seventh and ninth on GC. There have been a lot of days to deservedly bash EF this year, today isn't one of them.

Meintjes appears to be in his best form, and as he has already shown more than once, his result when in top form is 8th at the Tour.

O'Connor super impressive once again. As was SK. What luxury to have a GT podium winner as a domestique.

Roglic looked second best today, and maybe 2 kg heavier than he might want to be in the Tour. His TT continues to be his main weapon. Vingegaard...that guy is damn good. I assume at some point in the next 2 years Jumbo will pass the GT torch to him.

As for the rest, eh. I was hoping for an attack at some point on Colombiere but Jumbo just strangled the pack.

I think people overreact a bit to Vingegaard being stronger than Roglic today. It's his first race back after a training period before which he had a resting period.

I think this is all good news for Jumbo, because Kruijswijk was the best he's been in 3 years and Vingegaard is actually looking he can be a legit co contender for the Tour next to Roglic.

I don't think that we are overreacting. But I do agree that it is good news that the squad as a whole is getting better.

I don't see Vingegaard as being stronger than Roglic today. Quite to the contrary, he was the second man in the pecking order and, after Kruijswijk, took command of the situation. Roglic in yellow had no need to attack, but stay on the wheel. That's all.

At any rate, it's great to see Roglic back to firing on all cylinders, with Vingegaard also on form. Perhaps this Tour might be a real fight with Tadej.

Jonas could have destroyed Roglic at any time. If not in the same team. Jonas could have gone on his own, taking 30 or 40 seconds the last 3 km. Roglic would then have been overtaken and left behind by O'Connor. But, Roglic is not in top condition yet, and Jonas probably is.

Vingegaard really shouldnt be in top condition here. He said he didnt train for several weeks (assume right after the Ardennes), and hes usually a bit rusty after a break. He should have one more level come July

Constantly holding back Vingegaard allowed O'Connor to hold out and get even closer..... just to save the suffering yellow jersey

I don't think the public will ever demand that climber cyclists go shirtless.

I didn't see it that way, but Vingegaard was just pressing on as necessity demanded and there was no reason to go any harder. Roglic wasn't on the limit and just needed to get to the line with the GC wrapped up (and Vingegaard for the win). Win-win for the team.

Could be, but in 2020 Tour Roglic also did long efforts well, despite how it finished.
