1th on the finish, not be top 20 at the second intermediate time, means a really good final for Froome, maybe the second after Tarling, and top 20 at the end of the stage. I thought at the second intermediate he would be one of the five worst of the stage...but Now top 100 is for sure and top 70 It dependa on weather conditions at the end, if are better for Riders at the end no way...but 12 of 40 Riders at the moment is ok...very bad begining, and good at the end (It is normal a progresion of him, he prefer long ITT and the last parte IS the harder, but I didnt Hope that progression
Froome did very well to only lose 6 seconds to world class hilly TT specialist Sam Bennett.

Imagine how much Remco would've won by if he was in good form. He's the best TTer in the world by an enormous margin

Tomorrow it will be uphill for almost a whole day. Outside of Trek and Decathlon, there are no teams with sprinters. I think tomorrow there will be a breakaway of +- 10 riders. A very difficult day to chase all day

Trek and Decathlon will chase all day, difficult or not.

But okay, it's of course not a certainty that they'll succeed, so my 'no' was probably a bit too un-nuanced.

One thing is theory, another thing is teams racing like passive cowards instead of trying to get into a break on stages like these. Seen that way too often. Teams would rather roll the dice with the 10th fastest sprinter or do nothing because you have a top-10 GC rider which I will never understand.

I think the World's TT showed that when on form, between him and Ganna, it's who's on the best day. Tarling is in the mix.

Excellent win today. He's the World Champ, he should win a TT like this. Neither he or Tarling were on Worlds form, IMO.

Great performance by the Bullet man, especially considering his far from optimal preparation. Congrats! Primoz also quite solid - 39 seconds gap (a bit over 1 sec per km) to such a specialist is not bad (albeit average speed suggests the TT was really fitting to him). Other GC guys with bigger gaps, Ayuso quite disappointing considering his TT abilities.

Does Tarling have his own thread yet? I'm sure its something like "The Queen Anointed the Next Wiggo He's Not, But He Can TT FAH".
