if you read on I said that in a traditional TDF with 100 kms flat ITT, Remco might gain at most 3-4 minutes (exactly what you are saying). And then I said, pog would still not have too much issue getting that back and more in the MTFs.


Please read the full post, I know that it is always easiest to grab hold of one conditional statement and argue with that without taking in the entire more nuanced post.

No, I don't agree on that and I didn't say that.
Remco can, and most probably would gain significant time on the first TT (that's what I said and that's what we agree on), but in the 3rd week I think it's a toss up.
Time trails in the 3rd week aren't about pure abilities, but about recovery and I think we both agree Pogacar and Vingegaard sre better than him.
So it wouldn't be shocking if Pogacar or Vingegaard beat him, especially in not a pan-flat time trial.


So that leaves him with ~2 minutes (tops) as a total gain even with long time trials IMO.
