I really prefer flat stages over this. Atleast you know a flat stage will result in a sprint.

Cataldo deserved better. Nice scenery.

Is Dan Martin finally back?

It seems, but when this guy will ever learn? You can't beat guy like Alaphilippe by dragging him for 500m right until the line!

Thomas has this race in the bag.

The worst part of this race is what it is telling us about the TDF. Assuming Froome is there it threatens to be a procession. If he’s not there, or if he’s fading post-Giro it could be great, but those possibilities seem increasingly unlikely.

So...

Basically, we're going to watch a different SKY rider being in yellow until the end of the race....

Tomorrow is a bit more difficult, but overall a pretty easy day considering the length and the terrain beforehand. Alapihlippe again?

He said today was his only shot at victory. It seems unlikely and he has no intrest in the GC.

Benoot finishing 8 seconds behind in a stage featuring a HC climb suggests the peleton was taking it easy for the next three days.

Not me. Besides, you could predict the outcome looking at the easy final climb and stages coming later.
