Lance is a trickster. I was bored I read his books. He spins yarns and watches his opponents. Lance is a coyote.

I see Schleck and Contador watch and learn from Lance, they are learning to play Lances' mind games, switching races, possibly feigning injury or illness. Contador canceling a race which he would probably win but might effect his fitness in a negative manner in the future and Andy dropping out of Cataluya for example.

Like I have always said Lance is all about July. If he is in it for the money or his ego I don't care, I like to watch him operate.

Lance is an old lion. A setting sun.

Well, Lance does have the advantage of having a ton of fanboys blowing hot air up his a$$, which can only help him in the mountains.

TeeHee, you crack me up:)

Armstrong, more than ever, will need a team of loyal and very strong domestiques to carry his carcass around whichever race course he'll be doing from here on in.

Many people say that Contador has a weak team for the Tour, but if the roles were reversed Armstrong wouldn't be able to compete.

So as far as the Criterium International is concerned, I'm more interested in how his team rides. I want to see what type of form these cats are in, because they are going to have to do some major-league work to get their team leader a decent placing.

The Criterium Int'l is a 2 day race with one stage an ITT.

It is an individual effort race if ever there was one.

Jens could race as a one person team....

I think that's usually the case, but I think Lance is going to need his team more than ever on the first day.

Stages are not the same as the course Voigt won a couple of times.

The race is completely different this year.

Yes, Jens would be outclimbed this year for sure.

It would be kool if Alberto paced Vino up the climb,
and then Vino do well enough in the ITT to win the overall!

Is Vino stil going to start?

That would be the smart thing to do, assuming that Vino has the legs to do well. Contador might as well build up some good will with Vino. Let Vino wet his beak in exchange for solid support at the Tour. Or he could use the Evans approach, i.e. screw your teammate (Popo) out of a chance to do well in the early season (P-N) and then act surprised when that teammate offers no help at the TdF.

Lance is an old man....you know that right?

The main task for the team will be keeping Lance company as he
climbs the final Col de L'Opspedale minutes behind the stage winner:(

It would be neat if Vino attacked on the final climb, and Alberto sits
on Lances wheel as Lance tries in vain to chase Vino down:()

Then have Alberto pip Lance at the finish, like Lance did to Floyd that one day on bald mtn sp?

Lance's head might explode!

What is everyone talking about? We all know LA is going to try to follow and when he fails he'll just soft pedal up the climb saying it was a training ride for him...

I find it highly doubtful that Vino will be at the Tour.

I do think Vino and Astana will be working to embarrass RadioShack wherever they can.

RadioShack's doing a great job of that all by themselves.

I doubt Vino and Astana really care about RadioShack. They want to win the Tour.

Radio Shack is like the ex-high school jock who was a big man on campus. For a year or two the current students remember him. After that the girls are more interested in catching the eye of the current varsity players. When the older guy inappropriately shows up at weekend parties with his stories of how well he is doing working at Big O Tires and starts hitting on the teenagers, he is viewed as creepy.

they strike me as sort of a Norma Desmond character from Sunset Blvd, reliving past glories like it was just yesterday, completely deluded and not dealing with reality, how did that end? Oh yeah, dead guy in a swimming pool, and she plays to the cameras one last time.

wiki
....Max convinces her that she is on the set of her new film. Norma dramatically descends her grand staircase, makes a short speech, and delivers the film's most famous line: "All right, Mr. DeRolle, I'm ready for my close-up."

Vino and astana do not care about RadioShack? Yah right.

Everybody cares about Lance and RadioShack.

The Crit Int'l will see record crowds this weekend.

EuroSport will cover the event live, with an all new special episode of "Planet Armstrong" before and after the live coverage.
Really, guys, get a clue.....

And lots of people went to watch the sad ending of Michael Jordan at the Washington Willards, too....

Attendance does not in any way equate to present greatness. In sports, it usually is the sight of someone formerly great cashing in before they are obliterated by the relentless march of time.

I suppose the haters of the"Shack" are related to the guy who punched Merckx in the tour. Really guys show some class. Lance is an A-Hole I give you that.He is still a proven winner and I bet the "Shack" will be the the strongest team in the Tour behind Liquidgas and Saxo. I do not beleive either of those teams will produce a winner in the 10 tour.

Lances' teams for the most part have been fantastic. I do not think that Lances' handpicked team lacks depth or will be weak.
