Ah. I can well imagine that the standards of living were very different between CSSR and Yugoslavia then.Twas the mid-70s when the Cold War was still in full swing and our traveling destinations were very limited!

I only have fuzzy childhood memories, aside from the hole in the ground public toilet (which may have been only a one-of-a kind in Split) I really enjoyed our family trips to the former Yugoslavia. We may have visited the now Slovenia as well back then, I'd have to ask my folks because for me as a kid it was always just Yugoslavia.Ah. Yeah, I'm gonna agree with Worre.
Welsford had nothing to be mad about. He went over an positioned himself between Lonardi and the barriers.
The irony of me having posted this yesterday...Four out of seven UAE riders 12+ minutes down today, including Molano (what happened to him this year?).
I'm happy a Colombian won, I'm kind of ignoring it's yet another win for UAE. lol!Rider number 20 for UAE gets a win and a new record ... chapeau Molano!
I quickly tuned in when I read your post, better catch the action while it's still there!Bad weather, shortened stage, no breakaway so far and pretty good pace from Bahrain.
Similar conditions to McNulty's first pro win in Sicilia. Most of the final 20 km were downhill as well.A vast part is downhill, I think Mcnulty takes GC but not the stage
Technical descent?A vast part is downhill, I think Mcnulty takes GC but not the stage
It is indeed pouring, Heiduk and McNulty are the break at the moment. Go Brandon, please don't crash!
Weather protocol question - how is this different from when it was pouring at the women's Worlds RR? I mean it was raining there too and you could tell the ladies were just miserable, but that race had not been shortened. So how is it decided to shorten a race due to rain?
Roads quite wide but it's twisty so yeah a bit technical especially in the rainTechnical descent?
Why is it obvious if safety is the major concern?Well, obviously a major one-day race should not be shortened due to rain...
