Dirty Dave Brailsford (noun, proper): /də́rti dév brélsfərd/

1. A parasitic creature that thrives on the periphery of the nebulous ethical boundaries in professional cycling. Can most often be found exploiting these frontier regions to his own benefit through the use of "marginal gains."

Expect a press conference before next season where they will introduce a doctor to do internal testing of all riders!!!

Another leaf from USPS.

In which Sir Dave Brailsford chucks some more nonsense pseudo policy around that will never come to fruition, but, most importantly stands in defence of the wounded Wiggins thus ensuring Brad doesn't bring down the whole house of cards

“What we’re talking about here is Bradley having a need, the team doctor supporting that, an expert giving their opinion that this is the medicine that is required, and that then going to the authorities who say: ‘We agree with you, and here’s the certificate that gives you the permission to use that medication,’” said Brailsford. “I’ve got trust in [the TUE] process and the integrity of that process.

“It’s not one person making that decision. It’s not the rider or the team doctor who is picking the medication. They have to seek permission to use it and they were granted permission.”

Trying to pass the blame to an invisible source!!!

So a team doctor doesn't pick the medication? Kenacort or triamcinolone has not been used by NHS for years, yet some doctor ( unknown), probably Leinders recommended it.

What the point of having team doctors? Something Bassons said was all about doping the riders. Bassons said he never saw the team doctor and when sick went to his GP.

Does the master of detail, for which he got knighted, expect to be believed.

Master of ***.

Why not mention Hargreaves?

Anyway it is all fluff to cover the lies.

Wiggins never mentioned any illnesses in his years from 09-13 when he was flying.

He said prior to 2012," i am in the form of my life". Not someone needing big injections of Kenacort would say as he was in the form of his life destroying every race he entered from Paris Nice to the Olympics.

Sky have lied and lied consistently from 2011 on. Still lying. Believe in the TUE systems integrity, sure........liars

Hargreaves name is in the public arena now. Are you not libelling him by posting the information in a public forum?

Technically yes but the nature of these types of leaks means that suing is counter productive in most cases.

So Brailsford repeats failed promises about transparency.

Remember the 2012 press conference in Manchester was going to explain the science behind Wiggins TdF win? never happended.

Remember when he asked the journalists to get together and come up with questions and they would answer them?

Well he has been avoiding talking for 11 days and now only speaks to patriotic BBC about the most decorated Olympian and a Knight of the British Empire. That was going to be difficult.....not.

What legal reasons are those? Do you make these stuff as you go along?

Fwiw, Brailsford did answer a lot of the questions that were never asked off Wiggins. But it's a bunch of horse****. How do sky find pretty much the only doctor who is willing to prescribe triamcinolone as a preventive measure in Europe

Brailsford just took the blame away from Wiggins and pushed it towards potential corruption in the authorities' decision making

Hmmm. I'm guessing it went something like this:

*2010 Post season wrap up meeting of senior staff and riders*

Wigans: We got blown away this season, does anyone have any ideas?

Julich: You guys need a Dr.

Yates: A good Dr!

Knaven: One who knows racers...

Brailsford: But we told the press we wouldn't use a race Dr.

De Jongh: Just keep it quiet then.

Brailsford: You sure that will work?

Sutton: HTFU up you pu$$y.

Brailsford: Ok, ok. Who knows someone?

Julich: Checcini is out, so is Fuentes...

Wigans: Lim didn't cut it, that's why I jumped ship.

Yates: I think Ferrari has retired.

De Jongh: *Looks at Hayman and Flecha* We might know a guy...

Hayman: Leinders? Oh yeah, he's pretty good.

Flecha: The Chicken liked him, and look what he did to Contador!

Sutton: Get him on board!

Brailsford: Is he discreet?

Sutton: He will be if he doesn't want a steel-cap to the groin. Good work lads! Gotta go, apparently the wobblies are on the f___ing track again...

Pretty well covered here already, but I broke down one of DB's answers to Roan today just to illustrate his m.o. Not really a suitable format for here, but series of tweets here https://twitter.com/teflondub/status/780568069273976832
1/What DB says: "let's be clear"
What DB means: "you said something factual I don't like and I am now about to lie"

He's got a bit of the Tony Blair's about him doesn't he?

i.e. Golden boy for a little while, great orator, sparking a British renaissance.

and now.....

rivals Thatcher for most hated politician ever. Principally because of his capacity to spin his way through any conceivable situation.

If Froome got popped for epo + motors, Brailsford would find an impeccable line of clear reasoning which turns into a narrative of moral goodness.

This, ladies and gentleman, is why everyone hates Sky so much. It's not what they do. It's the moral crap they preach whilst doing it.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/cycling/37472728

From that interview of Brailsford, he says "He does not believe Wiggins' or Team Sky's reputations have been tainted."

If that's truly the case, why is he even on television? Why have Brad respond? He really is a master of double-speak, because he obviously accepts that their reputations have been tainted implicitly by the fact that he is talking about it. He's attempting to convince people, and I fear he will be successful.

Also, "We run a tight ship"... LOL.

Lance Armstrong = I have never tested positive = They have never been able to catch me

Dave Brailsford = We operated 100% within the rules = We haven't been caught breaking the rules

The more this story runs and runs the more it sounds like USPS/Lance Armstrong

DB's close relations with UCI/UKAD
DB's failure to answer questions from established cycling journo's
DB's trying to control the media message/agenda (burying it a the same time as allardyce news broke)
DB's obsessive attention to detail when the message suits his agenda but catastrophic errors of judgement when it doesn't - TUE's, Tiernen Lock, Leanders, Yates, Julich, De Jongh

The only difference is that DB's method is controlling the media message whereas LA did this along with a healthy helping of threats and intimidation.

I think its the beginning of the end for Team Sky, even people I know who don't follow cycling that closely can smell the BS from a mile off.
