Yeah, but is the badzilla foundation set up yet? And what about the bracelets?

You know what, I'd forgotten about badzhilla completely. The whole thing seems so long ago, like someone listening to Sgt Pepper in 1967 and forgetting that the same band made Please Please Me only four years earlier. Here the similarities end of course, because nobody thinks drugs had any role in The Beatles' dramatic transformation.

I like what cycling news has done here. Continue to write what you think, the reaction from sky reminds me of a certain American

Armstrong in his latest podcast said he's seen the Brailsford movie before and it doesn't end well. LA suggested that Brailsford should put the shovel away and stop digging a bigger hole for himself.

really enjoyed Lance's take on Stages today. to paraphrase he said "i have seen this movie before, the ending is shitty" host asks the part about attacking the media? Lance says "all of it"

This is the real world DFA123, it doesn't make sense all of the time. The separation of Sports & News Journalist is as old as media itself. No point saying it's absurd, everyone already knows this.
I am sure you are right. This comfortable arrangement is for the benefit of the sport. It's entirely appropriate that the demarcation continues because obviously "that's the way it has always been done" is a powerful and compelling argument. Sport and cheating are completely separate issues. If there happens to be no handy "news" journalists around with sufficient "sporting" knowledge then so be it.

It is well established that the Beatles moved from a pro conti weed and hash doping regime to the good pro level performance enhancing stuff like LSD. They even had their own inside protection from being busted - Sgt Pepper himself was one of the finest members.of the OPP and assigned to personal protection.

Can't have the brit stars getting busted on tour, can we?

This is exactly why we need more awareness about da badzhilla. The Beatles too.

Tomorrow never knows.

Don't think this has been posted before, it is an interview with Barry Ryan of cyclingnews with Newstalk Off the Ball re his "interview" with Brailsford...

http://www.newstalk.com/podcasts/Of...it_up_your_Arse__Brailsford_banning_media_now

Interesting, but hasnt the CMS disbanded after the GE was called?

I'm not sure what the current status of that investigation is at.

The UKAD will not complete the investigation. That's what they do best. It was only when the CMS was making them accountable did they pretend to do a little bit. If the committee reforms which Collins has tweeted he was elected chair, hopefully he'll call in Stapstead and ask her what the f### is going on.

CMS has completed its Blood doping in athletics inquiry due to the election. Scope of the inquiry was really over the Sunday Times database of blood test results from athletes taken between 2001 and 2012, but they added the Daily Mail's allegation of wrongdoing at the Dauphine and Wiggins as kind of related and nowhere else for it to go I guess. I think it might open up as a new inquiry perhaps after UKAD completes?

The General Election did Brailsford a favour as I think that Westminster are now so pre-occupied by Brexit and the fall out from it that the CMS will simply drift of into the abyss like many aspects of UK administration in the next 2 years. Grey areas of sport are not high up the priority list and neither it would seem are fire regulations and keeping taxpayers safe.

Murdoch still carries a lot of political influence and it wouldn't surprise me if some back room deals deals have been made in return for certain things 'going away' in amongst this political chaos. The fact that Barry Ryan hasn't let things 'go away' is what this is all about.

Brailsford comes across like Frank Underwood from House of Cards. Cyclingnews.com are the Washington Herald in all this.

"Team Sky head Dave Brailsford must be hit with the hard questions... whether he likes it or not"

The Herald Scotland is not going to move the needle on this one, that's for sure.

No, but it is another negative article and one leads to another and another and so on....

And another one from Matt Lawton. The elephant in the room in this article is Froome's decision to sign a new contract with sky whilst Brailsford is at the helm.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-4719148/Sir-Dave-Brailsford-tarnishing-Chris-Froome-performance.html

Yep the spin seems to have been to 'book end' it all as the class of 2012 but Freemans stock piling of Triamcinolone after 2012 contradicts this as does Froomes endorsement of Sky by signing a new contract.

I had expected Lawton to drop a fatal blow by now, maybe his sources are running dry......

Brailsford has apologised to the CN journalist in question apparently.

Will he give a no holds barred interview though and answer the questions with truth rather than management speak?

nope.

Why doesn't he just step down instead? Sky are already the most difficult team in the peloton to sympathise with; and this guy is somehow succeeding in dragging their reputation further into the gutter with his actions.

Because the team is his baby, a lot of his success and veneration were built on the back of it. He wants to be there for all of its glories. And I think he's fighting the realisation that his PR is toxic to his baby now.
