Brailsford has apologised to the CN journalist in question apparently.
Why doesn't he just step down instead? Sky are already the most difficult team in the peloton to sympathise with; and this guy is somehow succeeding in dragging their reputation further into the gutter with his actions.
Because the team is his baby, a lot of his success and veneration were built on the back of it. He wants to be there for all of its glories. And I think he's fighting the realisation that his PR is toxic to his baby now.
It does seem that way. I think it will be taken out of his hands soon and he will get 'moved upstairs'; he's a PR disaster at the moment, and it's difficult to see a company as ruthless as Sky just sitting by and watching him tarnish their name.

Brailsford said on camera, "no negative questioning" this year!!!!!

FFS he lies on camera, the guy is losing it!
Staggering.

Sky and Froome are clean. But asking for powerdata is "negative questioning" according to Dave

He has just spouted the "no negative questioning" script on ITV4.

This is obviously his new script as he has done the "we do things the right way" to death

How would there be negative questioning when they carefully choose their select band of sycophants who are allowed to ask them questions? Refuse to sit in front of the continental media for fear of getting asked a question off script and then tell anyone who has criticised them to shove it up their arse.

Brailsford did wonders for Froome lately.

DB'$ issues have changed the whole segment and now Froome is the snowflake caught in the storm.

Meanwhile DB is slowly ostracized until he recovers.

Then rinse and repeat.

SDB's buddy Alastair Campbell says it's clean cycling now ...

It may be that what some mean by corruption is a general feeling that the money now involved in football is out of control; and that the drugs issue in athletics and cycling is more an overhang from the past, than a reality still there today.

Ha! Alastair Campbell weighing in is only one step better than having Tony Blair on your side! It's almost a declaration that what you are saying is a total crock of ***!

Campbell, a former spin doctor, who IMO has blood on his hands re Dr Kelly.

Yep take that with a pinch of salt.

Vuelta Extra with Juan antonio Flecha showed him climbing the Angliru - and he came across Brailsford climbing it.

I,m not sure if it was coincidence or it was staged that he rode with him. It did seem coincidental as Brailsford didnt say much....he seemed to be finding it a hard climb, as expected.

But what an odd occurence. I bet there arent many DS's who have time to do a recon of the climb. Any thoughts......?

Brailsford is not a DS.

I recall seeing a documentary on Sky and SDB buggers off for a 2 hr ride when at races whilst his minions are getting everything ready for the day, swans back when they are due for the off.

Bastion of Ultra Efficiency/faith in his staff or work shy MD. You decide which.

Work. If he wants to go out on his bike do it in his own time - I am sure some of his soigneurs and mechanics would like to go for a spin but alas they are getting on with their work - early days and late nights.

Perhaps I am old fashioned but when a boss turns up for work they should lead by example and yep this is a bit out there but........................do work.

Ok, so what time do you want him clocking on and off? Do you think he's on a nine-to-five or do you think - heaven *** forbid - that he's taking a break in the middle of the day when he's not needed so as to be able to function the rest of the time?

Seriously, the level of petty sneering around here can go beyond the joke at times. Get real, even once, just to see what it's like.

The best leaders occasionally pick up a set of allen keys and wrench on a bike or two to pick up the slack when its needed. Inspect the finish line and help prep the photo-finish cameras. Basically demonstrate competence and interest in getting the job done. Whatever the equivalent is for Cookson, he should spend some time doing that.

Yes, but imagine what his riders might have achieved if he wasn't so work shy. ;)

You often see Team staff, owners, DS, Managers out riding or running to keep fit during the races. My claim to fame was I bumped into Rolf Aldaag jogging past our campsite one evening after a mountain stage in Tour a couple of years ago and went for a run with him. He said if he can't get a ride in, he has a quick jog in the evening to de-stress from the day and think about the next days work needed.

What a dilettante. When the Clinicians rule the world, everyone'll be working 24/7, chipping in with the cooking, the cleaning, the washing of the bikes and really annoying the people actually paid to do those jobs.
