Flicker, if I invited you to one of my "training camps" in the Dominican Republic or Colombia you'd come back more focused than ever, and guaranteed you'd forget all about your useless life as a troll.

You should just stop posting idiocy. How about that?

Your premise is childishly self-serving and so ethically full of holes you might as well have posted a picture of a block of Swiss cheese.

Keep dreaming. You'll be the only one.

You will be fished out of that jury pool, which if you are correct in saying is populated by the likes of you and Flicker obviously has too much chlorine in it.

You are wrong on all counts, as usual due to your your ASSimilation via Assmosis of anything Armstrong.

This is what Flicker and the rest of you prime obfuscators need to collectively get through your heads...

Just sayin'

Spot on. He's got to win at all costs. No matter how.

At the end of the day, his team might have won the tour but he's done fran Miller and that kind of thing can't be undone.

LOL. What you mean is - post your complaints in a thread that we ignore because we don't give a ****.

A spade is a spade and a mod is always a tool.

ebandit - you wouldn't know a debate if it bit you in the face. Just keep the naked flames away from your strawman lest in goes up in flames like your last attempted troll.

I get the sense he just says anything but some of what he states is to pre-empt what’s to come.

For example:

I have to quote the words of bobbins "spot on"

His quotes always have seemed like a form of defence/strategic.
I don't find any joy or passion for cycling in any of his comments.
Very clinical ,smug and soul-less. Just like his team.

He and Cookson are peas from the same pod. The first thing they learnt is that you have to keep the press sweet and good PR keeps bad stories at bay.

You should read through that thread more thoroughly, we respond quite frequently.

And please don't insult other posters. Thank you.

And ignore anything critical and just carry on as before, because woebetide that you should ever admit to ****ing up.

But hey, have to keep the trolls here, cos the hits and replies keep on adding up - page views are where its at.

Back to the subject in hand.

The Genius seems to have been doing the rounds of late with the UK press. So there was a BBC interview, the Torygraph had a puff piece, Guardian got on all fours for him.

My guess is he wants to be Lord Dave at the end of the season.

The thing with him is that he realises that the press have the memory of goldfish and depend on Sky for copy (ie 3 sky related stories today on the Guardian) and so they're i) too stupid to double check and ii) even if they were know that they'd be copyless if they ever rocked the boat. No more 'exclusive' interviews for you.

He gives them copy, they don't ask tricky questions. If he has a skill it is in being able to develop a mutual relationship with the press. He saves them effort, they don't look too hard in return.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

the british media is a joke, almost as bad as the US. How many critical questions have they asked of Brent?

What's odd, is football in Britain there is no reprieve from the media.

Cycling journalism is like cheerleading in the UK. In the U.S. the just didn't have any idea about the sport so were obvious to the obvious.

Totally my opinion, but for whatever reasons they chose to ignore it too. The 60 minutes piece on Carmichael was out there in plain site and not one writer noted Wonderboy was intimately involved.

We're in the honeymoon phase with Sky/BC.

True. Oblivious was the wrong word. There were a lot of US cycling journalists who were working 2 jobs to make ends meet suddenly saw a sport they liked go mainstream due to Lance. And to keep themselves in one job only it meant writing wonderful things about Lance. The only ones who ever wrote anything negative were non cycling media.

My opinion is we shouldn't only blame Lance. Similar to the financial crisis, the bankers were bad but there were a lot of people spending like the world was about to end. We all have to share the some of the blame and take responsibility.

What I find funny in the UK is there is such vitriol for Murdoch but somehow that doesn't extend to the cycling team... bizarre. Even more funny in the UK is we've we've seen some horrific corruption; stealing enmasse in the streets, riots/looting, politicians fiddling their expenses on epic proportions, sports corruption, football match betting/fixing, the banking crisis, libor rates scandal, social benefit scams and somehow out of all that we're meant to believe that the UK cyclists are honest and go against the grain..... not likely.

British Cycling's Performance Programme which Sky is simply a carbon copy of for the road has been going since 1997. I wish my honeymoon night lasted 18 years lol!

Except that would be his talent, getting the right people around him which is of vital importance running any type of organisation/business.

Bralisford is recognised as an organiser and the head organiser at SKY so he has been responisble for getting the people in who have put SKY were they are.

I don't care for SKY but can at least see why Bralisford is lauded despite his lack of Cycling nous. The guy at the top will always get the credit.

"much talent"
I like Hogs point about how Sky fans seem to ignore the Murdoch agenda?
If his coop had their way it would all be pay tv and you would end up paying to get on the mountains for stages.

You are aware that Team Sky & British Cycling sponsorship takes just 2% of BSkyB's total marketing spend. Don't kid yourself Team Sky is that important to Murdoch and BSkyB, because frankly it's beer money that can come or go. They've got good ROI for 2% no doubt mostly in UK market, but to kid yourself Team Sky are that important to a Murdoch agenda is foolish thinking.

sort of became important tho when James stuffed up with the phone hacking scandal in the tabloids of NewsCorp, and then Sky can have some reflected glory while the Murdoch's pay penance.

caveat: phone hacking was going on before James moved across from BSkyB which he did do a very successful job with, to NewsLimited print in UK. And Sky's sponsorship was in the works before the phone hacking ever knew the name Millie Dowler.

And if you want to get technical, Team Sky itself takes 0.8% pro rata for the title sponsorship!
so what Brailsford's skill will be, will be in managing this sponsorship like a Deutsche Telekom or Rabobank and getting them to re-up for two decades, cos they can afford to.

And Murdoch can manage the media like no one else.

And no other teams have this luxury
