Why is cycling press not calling for Brailsford to resign?

He told them he never heard pf Trimacoline or Kenacort and didn't know what they were.

Now trying to tell us he had a knee problem and got an injection of it.

Compulsive liar.

If you are going to lie about one thing, why not lie about everything!!!!
Because they're all worried that if he weathers the storm he won't give access to the writers that called for his resignation. I agree, it's perplexing that his job seems rock steady at this point.

Not many cycling journos(or sport) with a spine, apparently not a necessary requirement for the job, i use job in the loosest terms :)

The thing that's both astonishing and at the same time worrying is how Brailsfraud 'normalises' behaviour that is far from normal. Ken Matheson I think alluded to the ego of DB. He has this manipulative aura which seems to know no bounds.

It's not the intimidatory aura of Armstrong but I dunno people seem so scared to call him out to his face.

I think it's the perception that he is smart perhaps or he is perceived to be this merlin the magician type character people are in awe of him. I think he is a smart **** liar who has tried to clever too many times and the public have simply had enough. Its made his position 100 times worse in dealing with this situation and when you look at interviews he has given they border on delusional.

I agree he is a liar and manipulator of people and facts and should be called on it.

Kimmage had his number and that is why Kimmage was kicked out of Sunday Times.

Brailsford knew Kimmage wouldn't be fooled. Kimmage was a pro and still has contacts to talk too.

The sloberinghams, *** Moore, Gallagher et al and that excuse with a laptop Syed lapped it up like puppies.

I see Walsh has advertised on twitter his Times piece for today on Wiggins.

I can't see how anyone employed by the Murdochs can give an opinion.

As far as I am concerned their word is worth *** so long as they are paid by Murdoch.

A bit like when the BBC report on the BBC

Mate of mine who spent some time with Cope a few years back told me that he used to speak of the irony of racing for a BC team sponsored by Persil given that it was laundry detergent he'd put on his fingers to foil a urine test.

That being the case I wondered whether he was doing some massive trolling in the week when he spoke to laundry detergent being couriered to races by pro teams.

I didn't know that, but I suspect yes. He made a pretty under the radar crack about 'we all try to fiddle our expenses, don't we' to a Parliamentary Committee. Not as dumb as he was playing.

Now more Wizard of Oz than Merlin.

For me it's his self-righteousness that is making his downfall oh so enjoyable. That it's drip drip is just scrumptious.

Where is Queen Fran these days? And her odious brother? Isn't he now on the BC books to promote anti-doping? Surely at least a few words of condemnation would be appropriate.

Fran gone to ground with tail between the legs. Odius brother off on a junket with Uncle Brian riding bikes with rich Suadi type princes, avoiding any back splash from the pathetic true letting off Britsh Cycling.....

Nice line on Brailsford from Eamonn Sweeney in the Irish Independent:

"At this stage Brailsford is like a child who claims the dog has eaten his homework and can't even prove he has a dog."

That's a great article by Eammon Sweeney, just read it. Really well written and absolutely brutal.
And that comparison is very funny.

A bit like when the BBC report on the BBC

it is 'limited hangout'.

willingly will admit to errors, with a motive to confect credibility, then seeks to hide the true nefarious actions

Talking of Queen Fran, she had quite a day. She spent the last few hours kicking a*se big time. Wrote the tweets and got the riders to send them, blimey she might even have all their "login" details so she can cut them out - probably be more efficient that way. G can be 100%, Luke can be 110% and who can be 120% ? I know........
Tonight probably having a glass of wine talking to Cound about all the RSI risks to all this tweeting getting the counter story out there.

That Walsh guy; the next free Sky jersey and shorts he gets is having itching powder put on the shamy and armpits.
cant we send Walsh a free Cervelo like Dr Rasmus Damsgaard, or do you think he deserves a Cervelo AND a Pinarello for all his shilling, or, will Rupert keep him well remunerated.

It was a good article. Unfortunate that he attributed Shane Sutton's flag waving rant to Brailsford though.

Yeah, the newspaper business is weird when it lets factual errors like that out. Even when I sent @IndoSport a tweet telling them about that (and that it was Simon, not Shane, Cope), nobody picks up the free crowd-source copy editing services!

Brailsford got the dreaded vote of confidence from James Murdoch after Wednesday's train wreck but before the weekend's details of Freeman take delivery of 70 vials of Kenalog and testosterone patches. That's the last thing out of the way before the inevitable resignation. He's hardly going to try to brass it out to see if he can hang on to his knighthood, is he?

you mean the vote of 'confidence' boiler plate crisis communications response, when they have the management say the gaffer's job is safe, you know they are merely applying oil to the blade of the guillotine and getting out diamond sharpeners to its edge.

confidence qua confidence inverted comma talking mark confidence that he will have the next seven days walking the plank and torturing metaphors

Ouch, that Sir Brad title is looking pretty improper these days. Brailsford. Wow. A lot of people have tried not to dislike him, to give him some benefit of doubt, but this is bad. Very bad.

Yup, gotta say that now ALL the Sky wins look pretty tainted.

I read a New Yorker on Salazar a few years back. I don't recall any mention of his doping practices. Hmm, how much the media overlooks.

New Yorker's much vaunted fact checking department. Good to know they are human and make f-ups too.

Very little goes to press without lawyers reading it. If a lawyer dont like it, it gets sub edited out. Most decent journos know they cant right heresay, so need facts. Libel laws in the UK are pretty hard upon the media. Not sure in USA.

The media is currently in a downward spiral into extinction. Google has sucked most of their advertising revenue away so no media company wants to go to court as it is expensive. Daily Mail and Murdoch papers are about the only few going to be around in uk in 10 years rest will be gone.
