Wow, that sprint by Van Aert was bad. When he would learn to doze his effort when pulling for others. Nice win for Pidcock, he looked the strongest in the race imo.

Trentin was clearly riding for a podium at the end. He probably felt there wasn't more in the legs after his attack.trentin is the most stupid rider in history, the worst tactical decisions i always see from him, why go to the front like that and then get boxed in?
According to Pidcock, van Aert was pulling super hard on the flat. "Maybe too hard, in the end".
By the time he gets to retire, he'll learn.
He actually got dropped once on the climbs. Van Aert looked effortless on the climbs. But like in every race, he couldn't help himself doing too much work.Pidcock was the strongest each time on the climbs. If it had been a flat sprint things could have looked different.
Trentin's tactis have been questionable more than once, but his biggest problem is that his sprint clearly deteriorates after a hard race.trentin is the most stupid rider in history, the worst tactical decisions i always see from him, why go to the front like that and then get boxed in?

also have a feeling many people are completely underrating Pidcock's explosiveness in races up till 200km.He actually got dropped once on the climbs. Van Aert looked effortless on the climbs. But like in every race, he couldn't help himself doing too much work.
Trentin's problem is not stupidity. It's the lack of sprint/punch at the end of very hard races.Trentin was clearly riding for a podium at the end. He probably felt there wasn't more in the legs after his attack.
I saw the same thing, but now I have doubts is he was faking it!!!He actually got dropped once on the climbs. Van Aert looked effortless on the climbs. But like in every race, he couldn't help himself doing too much work.
He has improved a lot, compared to 2 or 3 years ago when he was doing lots of work when other guys in the same group where clearly faster/had better results in bunch sprints. He actually got dropped once on the climbs. About the Moskesstraat:
According to Tomas Van Den Spiegel (Flanders Classic) there was no mortar used in the reconstruction, they got rid of the tarmac spots and all the old cobbles were used. With the rain everything between the cobbles should be washed away by September.
So at the WC it should be close to the same difficulty level as before even if today it probably is a lot easier to ride on.

Pidcock said his powermeter surged every time he had to try to get/stay in van Aert's wheel. He has improved a lot, compared to 2 or 3 years ago when he was doing lots of work when other guys in the same group where clearly faster/had better results in bunch sprints.
From now until September I will take it upon myself to stop at the top there on every ride and piss down the hill to make sure they look nasty again
He seems to work too much at the front of his groups. I think his stamina is worse this year but his climbing is better. His only wins are when others pulled in his group(G-W and T-A).It seems more important to Wout to show how strong he is than to win races.
Pidcock is explosive, sure, but I didn't expect him to win that one. I thought he would either go first and perhaps get the jump on Wout, but then fade, basically the reverse of what we just saw. Or, if coming from Wout's wheel, he would make up half a bike length or so but not more.also have a feeling many people are completely underrating Pidcock's explosiveness in races up till 200km.
In CX this season he was, at points, even more explosive than VDP. (But then lost that time again in technical parts)
I was not surprised at all seeing him outsprint Van Aert. Not 1 bit
Yeah, I don't doubt that, I just wanted to say that he is racing smarter than 2-3 years ago.Pidcock said his powermeter surged every time he had to try to get/stay in van Aert's wheel.
Clearly Pidcock forgot to stay on threshold and get dropped. How rude. Ineos myths busted again.Pidcock said his powermeter surged every time he had to try to get/stay in van Aert's wheel.
I don't really agree. It hasn't been a particularly good spring for Van der Poel and Van Aert fans but I hope summer will bring better results.
Anyway good win by Pidcock.
How many Belgian cycling fan and how many beers do we need to get a "wet "Roubaix? From now until September I will take it upon myself to stop at the top there on every ride and piss down the hill to make sure they look nasty again
