<Snip> Brad McGee broke his collarbone and was competing at the Sydney Olympics and won Gold IIRC after two weeks.....

Not gold, bronze..... he was pretty frustrated by the whole thing, especially at his "home" Olympics.

I seem to remember he commented that he could feel the plate catching under the skin during the ride, not comfortable at all.

I'm looking at a chart produced from his own website blood test data. It's a .jpg file, how can I upload it?

basically it's a chart x-axis is HCT (%), y-axis is retics (%). Aug08-May09 all points top left, Jun-Jul09 bottom right. It would appear his body thought it needed more red blood cells in the off-season, but thought it had plenty when he came to the Tour. Why would that be?

You can't upload it but you can display it here. Find out what the full link to the image is, click

<sobbing> It's asking me for a URL. I don't have a link; I was pretty sure LAS' lawyers would get it taken down (he took the raw data down pretty quickly) so I took a screenshot and saved as a .jpg. I appreciate I'm looking pretty stupid here. Can't even attach file to PM.

For the record, and I've said this before on here, I always believed he decided to come back when he saw the maillot jaune group go up the Alpe in 42 minutes in 2008 and thought "I can do that clean, prove I'm clean whilst I'm doing it and thus stop all the sniping about my previous wins" (however earned). I can't bear the man but will admit the best project manager won the TdF 1999-2005.

His XTERRA race at the weekend was impressive - until he crashed he was still with Michael Weiss (look HIM up) who won the race.

Lance knows that he would never win or be a contender on a clean field... or he is totaly stupid.
His 2010 TDF showed that he was unable to compet with the cleanest riders despite having be a follower all the time.

without a doubt he was doping.

he only came back because he got the green light from ferrari that he would be able to dope. i suspected as much at the time and said so here and on other boards. now it has been officially confirmed.

2009 he was doped to the gills, lost a lot of weight very suddenly, and had stellar perfs during the tour coming out of rest days. we also know that he was being protected by the uci.

2010 landis and feds made it tough. however, armstrong's unbelievable improvement from tour of gila itt to 4th in the tour prologue showed that ferrari had prepped him well going into the tour. we now know that he met ferrari just days before the tour which (very importantly) started outside of france.

his perf at the 2010 tour went steadily downhill from the prologue to being not so powerful along the cobbles, to looking strained on the first medium mountain stage, to losing a ton of time on the next day. refill day (that should always be held after some mountains like it was that year) came a little late and he couldn't risk too much with the scrutiny, nor was it worth it by then.

as for hrotha's claim/joke about 1998. Yes, i agree that i think he tried to come back initially without epo. and that led him to leave paris-nice. it was his cynical decision to go back to epo and ferrari in may of that year that lead to the fraud -- though myth had it that it was due to a week in the hills of carolina with bob roll. :p

I don't think the doping there is confined to hillbilly heroin.

What would be the point coming back clean? It would only prove he was dirty beforehand if his performances were substandard. To Lance and his fans a like performance on Comeback 2.0 to previous performance would go with the theory that he's clean and always has been clean.

I agree he watched the 2008 Tour and thought - I'll have some of that! I can take that on and win again. No Ullrich nor Basso to worry about.

He didn't bank on Contador becoming so good. I think once he broke his collarbone and was forced to ride the Giro to pick up his appearance cheque the Ferrari program was in full swing. It was never going to be any other way. He wanted to win and that always means doping.

Finishing 3rd at the Tour that year was out of control. Defied logic but it was rationalised as Armstrongs pure talent.

Now comparing Xterra and the Tour is ridiculous. The Tour is 5000 times harder than the Xterra. Its only 2.5 long!!

IMHO Armstrong would be lucky to break the top 50 clean. As another poaster noted, Armstrong has been jacked since his triathlon days.

Maybe I was being too subtle :) Google "Weiss" and "humanplasma". Jan Frodeno called him out on twitter after the race.

Really?

Can you point me to the page that says he was taking PEDs when he was 16? Take your time. Thanks.

PS, I am doing you a favor here by replying to your post, so you won't have to. You're welcome.

Do you know who his coach was when he was 16? Of course blood spinners only became a required part of Crawford's training plans later

He was a kid in high school. You believe he was on some type of blood doping? lol.

Did Betsy tell you that?

Nope, not blood doping. Other things when he was a teenager, sure. He was working with a coach who has a history of being ethically challenged.

I doubt he was doing anything at 16, but at 18 he looked like a bull.

You're the one that brought up the age of 16. Are you backtracking on that now like you did when you predicted black Tuesday/hater celebration day with your factually challenged schizo buddy the hog?

If so, you should wait awhile for your reply so your post will be another page, like you did on your 180 about hater celebration day.

It is too easy to look up two posts and see your contradiction.

Calm down.

You are confused, I never predicted anything about Tuesday. Sure, we are in the endgame phase of the investigation but that could take months. I have been consistent about that.

You are right, I should not have used 16. 18 would have been a more accurate age.

In my opinion, he knew nothing had changed with regards to doping in the peloton and with UCI. I think the way he was talking about the Tour in 2008 gives an insight into his thoughts, when he was belittling van der Velde for finishing so high. Basically, he still thought he could dope his way to the Maillot Jaune. I suppose he regrets the comeback now, with the feds breathing down his neck.

No, you just fanned it by saying to somebody the next month will be hard on them, post 7143 saying the investigation was over, in post 7279 saying he can't leave the country. Then this crawfish gem post 7309:

Sorry to rain on the party but I do not think there will be any charges tomorrow....or even this month. This is a complex case with many facets. It will not wrap up over night

Yes, the party you helped create along with the hog leading up to Oct 18. At least you put out a qualifying post to exhonerate any foreplay in the future.

Whew, that research made me feel like the little teacher's smartazz pet telling on the other kids. Now I know how doc feels.

Thanks for proving my point, I never mentioned anything about Tuesday or any other date.

It's kinda like waiting for Santa isn't it? Don't worry the fun will start soon.

Yes it is. I never believed what the hog says or what you insinuated. I blame my own pessimism about what others say or do on that, so please don't take offense.

You should probably get your buddies on board with your santa claus games. We were talking about LA's water use earlier.....I imagine on Oct 18 there was so many cold showers taken it made LA's water use pale in comparison.
