Looking back two years plus with retroactive testing is pointless…..what will it change?

The bookies' favourite for the TdF?

I wonder if the UCI have received any more donations recently...

Even without Contador, LA is no way the favourite..

True, but I will bet everything that I own that if a really big fish comes up with a positive it will be Contador and that LA will offer a year's worth of Livestrong donations to make sure that his punishment STICKS.

My money for the TdF is now squarely on Andy S....

Didn't say he was. He was on a separate list, AS WELL AS, those already caught.

Although your 'separate list' included the names of Rebellin, Visconti, and Bosisio, 2 of which have been 'already caught', so to be fair you may be able to see how it looked like you were saying that Visconti was as well.

Either way I wouldn't be surprised if any of those names were on there. But geez, hurry up already anti-dopers.

This has been dragging on for months, as has the alleged Astana infusion kit fiasco. Why so slow? Are negotiations being struck, deals being done? If so, and I'm sorry for being so cycnical, but the dirtiest thing about pro cycling IS NOT the doping.

I don't think anything big will come of this.. Maybe it'll just comfirm Ricco or someone doping..

According to biciclismo, that cites gazzeta dello sport, the italian doping authorities found several samples, of riders in the 2008 Giro, suspicious. The italian authorities asked UCI that the Lausana lab to also analyse the samples, and UCI authorized. Results are expected within two months.

Six to seven possible cera positives 2008 Giro d'Italia???

Two riders who were in that race who we know were charging: Sella and Priamo (source: Sella).

The following riders in that race tested positive for EPO or CERA later on:
Riccò
Rebellin
Piepoli
di Luca
Bosisio
Colóm
Pfannberger (who "withdrew for unknown reasons", like Priamo)
Landaluze

The following riders in that race have been flagged by the biopassport since:
Pellizotti
Astarloa
Valjavec

Any money, if ever pressed to announce these names, they are not names not listed above.

Just looking at this race and its not a pretty list

1 - Contador (Clenbuterol positive in tour 2010, going to CAS hearing in June)
2 - Ricco - banned after testing positive for CERA at the tour in 2008
3 - Bruseghin - mentioned in the Ferrari investigation?
4 - Pellizotti - fell foul of the bio-passport for blood results mostly in 2009
5 - Menchov (9 on the leaked UCI list)
6 - Sella - tested positive for CERA in July 2008
7 - Van den Broeck - 8 on the leaked UCI list
8 - Di Luca - banned after testing postive for CERA in Giro 2009.

Ok though, a lot of grand tour top 10s have seen a lot later banned in one way or another.

LOL, I went to watch some stages of the 08 Giro, Alpe di Pampeago(Sella), Passo Fedaia(Sella) and Plan de Cornes TT(Pellizotti). No need to tell me about feeling cheated although I still enjoyed it regardless, to go back to the Dolomites is one of my dreams, loved those mountains.

Oh yeah, also went to the Tour that year, saw the stage over the Aspin, Peyresoude(Ricco) and Hautacam (Piepoli in a Saunier Duval 1-2), I really know how to pick em:eek:

You just need to tell WADA which stages you will be watching and the winners will be dopers:D

What other races have you seen? Were you there for Vino's TT win in 2007? How about Floyd coming into Morzine? Eat some steak in Pau last year?
