De Gendt is probably the best rider in the front group, a quality rider and probably trying for a spot for Belgium at the worlds with a decent ride today.

Some serious racing going on today.
Sky tactics? Blow up the whole team with 60kms to go.
70 km leadout, perhaps? Surprisingly enough, it was too early!

Yeah, up front until they hit the Couberg. HTC and Rabo seem to have taken over for now. Baffling (and not for the first time). They seem to race a bit like Rabo used to. Putting the effort in at very odd moments.

Were any of the original front 11 a threat to the overall? If not, then HTC wouldnt want to chase too hard if its not a stage for Greipel. Maybe Sky figured that they had to make sure the peloton was close enough to the group to allow EBH a chance of a stage win? How many Sky are still there?

Right now it seems they are at least 4 possibly 5.

5 secs a km for peloton to make catch. its what they had at this point yesterday and they did it with ease.
