Belgium's insane luck continues. In the semis they get a team that has gone through 2 consecutive 120 minute games.

One may say that its these teams fault for not winning in 90 minutes, but then these teams had to face Switzerland/ Croatia, and then eachother to get there, a far harder task than the Hungary Wales combination.

Portugal haven't been that great all competition, but were the better team tonight.
Poland were playing it risky taking every game to penalties and hoping to win the lottery eachtime.

Ive been disapointed with CR7. Maybe it is true afterall that he can't play well in the big moments.

Hopefully Portugal can put something better together for the semis.

Belgium must be in dreamland, of course Wales wont be easy for them, however if you'd have offered them Wales and then a very average Portugal to reach the final they'd be extremely happy with that.

I see I disagree with you 99% of times. This, however, is spot on. Eliseu is not NT material, he should not even be first option at Benfica. He is really, really, really bad. Neither the English nor Portuguese dictionaries contain the words to describe how awful he is.

Father stabbed mother to death when he was just 10, I think he and his brother witnessed it but I can't recall the full story.

Certainly they have not impressed at any point during the tournament and yet they are through. I still think Belgium (if they win tomorrow) will be better than Portugal. The Belgians seem to have found some form lately atleast as counter attacking goes. I doubt Portugal will manage to draw the match to ET in a potential match against Belgium.

Ha. Not quite. Bylas is the feminine singular of you were (ie when you are talking to a woman) and then opponents is obviously plural (and masculine) so it doesn't quite work.

In any case, you should know by now that I reject nationalism and most forms of tribalism and do not identify myself with any sport team, especially not for "they were born on the same piece of land as me" reasons.

As someone who pays attention to the Polish media, I'm glad Polish newspapers and tv crews can finally cover real *** now. Most polish people probably missed brexit happened because 99% of the all discussions last 2 weeks have been on what the Polish foobtall team were having for breakfast and then doing interviews with ex teachers and friends of the football players etc.

the welsh held them and beat them in the qualifiers, so who says the belgies will be in dreamland - have to beat a team who they haven't beaten recently, and that team is currently full of confidence...

Probably more of a marketing thing, just get the name out there and might be beneficial for both sides to have an "association".

Ronaldo was pretty bad yesterday. Not Rooney-bad, but still bad.
Atm, Renato Sanchez and to a lesser extent Nani are the ones with the odd flash of geniality in the Port. squad.

Such a pain to watch Ronaldo moan and complain all the time.
I reckon the team spirit suffers from it.

Still, I decided Portugal was the deserved winner when I realized I hadn't seen Rui Patricio all match.

How old is this Polish squad? The defense and generally their organization looked very solid. If they can keep this squad together and the spirit going, they should qualify for the WC 2018 easily.

Really sorry indeed for Blasczykowski.
Was the best player on the pitch yesterday, imo. I'd be surprised if Dortmund don't bring him back for the coming season.
