And he's not in a bad place when he stays. Kruijswijk is obviously still good. Tolhoek was surprising. Bouwman is also getting stronger. Gesink, while not that good anymore, can still survive and pull a lot.
If you're just way better on a 20 minute climb it'll do, but TdF mountain breakaways are always very tough.Dekker_Tifosi said:That's what obvious with gesink. I mean he had no acceleration as GC rider. How the hell are you going to win stages? You can't grind away from these guys in escapes. Only when in a really weak break (for instance that Vuelta break).
Shows how much just a little bit of luck can make or break a team. Roglic had an agreement with Dimension Data, that didn't go through because they couldn't get the budget that was required. Jumbo then somehow stumbled upon him, but initially didn't want to do it just because he was Slovenian. Give it a 'oh well, why not?' shot, and here we are.Dekker_Tifosi said:LottoNL really made a golden transfer with him. Holy ****

Uphill sprint among dead riders doesn't equate to accelerating uphill.del1962 said:Dekker_Tifosi said:That's what obvious with gesink. I mean he had no acceleration as GC rider. Yeah, two targets, but three protected riders.yaco said:It actually worked well with Lotto NL Jumbo having two targets in the race - Three climbers is enough to win a GT.
