So it looks like Pogi will be the one, the main rival to tackle this year at the Tour. If and when we get to there. Considering Pogi doesn't seem to have any apparent weakness to exploit, beyond predictable desire to win it all and to not hold back, likely best to not overcomplicate things. Prepare to be the best version, team hopefully to follow the lead and then lets just race. Personally i would likely sacrifice stomps to be fresher at the final ITT. Beyond that plan A likely being not to lose time deep into the race and to take it should a opportunity arise.

Dauphiné hopefully on where Rogla to have some fun as the Tour will be more about pleasure.

How’s he doing and where he at? Still at altitude or back home?

He is still in Sierra Nevada.

Bora will have a really strong field for the TDF, Roglic, Hindley and Vlasov are no joke. I guess Buchmann will have the vuelta for him since he was denied Giro. That's
I'm rooting for Roglic to at least avoid crashes this time and have last year's Vuelta form.
I'll always remember him having to relocate his shoulder on that chair, then chase almost alone on that cobble stage, without giving up.

You mean the Tour will be all bizness.
Pogacar will start feeling the mega pressure if anyone's near him entering the last week. The most likely candidate at this point would be Primoz but it'd be great if there were several candidates seriously in the mix to complicate tactics. That's my hope, anyway.

That reminds me of the guy skying his mountain bike over the peleton in the 2019 Tour.

That was Primož too.

Yeah i was hoping for the duo to have a common goal, crack Jonas and keep Remco at bay. But it is what it is, they will need to take a swing against each other. If nothing else we will get the battle we hoped for at Tour 2021 and that is great too, especially considering Visma already tried to retire Rogličes ambition, to win the Tour. Luckily that didn't pan out and we can now, years after, still enjoy the aftermath.

CHRISTIAN PÖMER: “ROGLIC IS IN A GOOD MOOD AND WE HAVE A GOOD STRATEGY FOR THE DAUPHINÉ”

Primoz Roglic is back and “in a good mood”, his Bora-Hansgrohe team director Christian Pömer said ahead of the Criterium du Dauphiné, which starts on Sunday in St Pourçain sur Sioule. Winner of the Dauphiné in 2022, the Slovenian was injured in a massive crash at the Tour du Pays Basque in April and is making his return to competition this week.
“Since the crash, he has been training in an altitude camp and it went very well. He’s in very good mood now and eager to prove the shape he showed in the last couple of weeks in the camp,” Pömer said.

“When he raced for the last time at the Tour of the Basque Country, he was in excellent shape. Beating Remco in the opening time trial despite the small incident he had, it was a great performance, but the big goal is the Tour de France and the Dauphiné is just a next step in his preparation,” the Austrian sports director added. Yet he added that the Dauphiné, while an important step in Roglic’s season, was not his primary goal. “He’s back on track and his other opponents, Remco and Jonas, are also better after the crash and they all have the same problem: facing Pogacar in the Tour. Fortunately, even Tadej has to recover sometimes and we’re happy he’s not here.” At the helm of a super strong team for the Dauphiné, Roglic is not the only one to be in a position to have GC ambitions in the race. “

We have a very strong team here, we also have Jai Hindley here, we have Alex Vlasov. The team for the Tour is a surprise. In modern cycling, you have to be super flexible. We’ll have a good strategy for the Dauphiné and an even better one for the Tour. But we won’t share it with the public,” Pömer said.

This year is the year. Can you feel the stomp?

Seriously, I'm totally sold on Bora at this point. They fully believe in him and support him with the best possible team. Heck, they even managed to get Martinez on the Giro podium. Just please, please no mishaps in the first week.

EDIT: I think the "surprise" for the Tour team is Martinez. It'll be him and the Dauphiné team.

After what Pog displayed at the Giro, this is simply not enough

Roglič is better than everyone Pog faced in the Giro. Yeah Pog is favorite but it's the Tour. If no one else went there with the motivation to win, it would be pretty depressing for the spectators, right? So I feel confident in saying Rog will have done all the work required to be ready. What happens next is... anyone's guess (& dependent on the God's of cycling, as always).

I also don't care what anyone says, i.e. when it starts there's going to be tension for everyone, no matter their name - especially in stages like the Troyes gravel stage.

Amazing legs, 21 super performances, good teammates... & we'll see where this ends. But I would enjoy a good Dauphiné for starters.

Do you honestly think he has a chance of winning the Tour?
