Indeed it's a rather (re)fitting as when you say "snel se je z verige" or "snel se je s ketne" in Slovenian. You tend to emphasis on how somebody went beyond himself, beyond the usual restraints, and achieved something greater that one could imagine.
If Netflix ever makes a series about it it can title it Giro d'Italia: Unchained.
I miss Primož too, competing at the Tour. But it was the right call. Belgians would complain on why doesn't he work for van Aert more and Danes on why doesn't he work for Vingegaard more, France on why couldn't he pull for Laporte ... Reasonable questions but c'mon. At some point you have to draw the line.
This year i noticed media and riders are playing a lot of mental games. Likely Rogla would be at the front lines again to deal with that. Some are even accusing him of letting JV down. Such people have a rather short memory and should watch TDF 2022 again. Not the Netflix thingy.
So JV can tackle Pogi without Rogla this year and lets see how it goes. It's rather fitting in the end. Considering everything involved and the history. When Rogla undertakes Tour again he will go there as a leader with dedicated team support. It's only fitting.
Meanwhile Rogla is preparing for Vuelta. Some beautiful training rides in Logar Valley:
And some good Netflix shows should get us there.
To Vuelta, Tour and beyond. Looking forward to that. For some more of the Rogla unchained edition.
