Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

I do not know what the f*** this race is all about. It is obvious that peloton pace is slow and Rogla is not allowed to go.

Yeah that was absolute bullsh*t.

It's not a fair fight. As soon as the bunch sat up, Rog was screwed. And that is why being on the same team as Vingegaard is not the best way to win a GT. Not when the team car makes a decision to have Vinge attack from further out & basically leave his teammates waiting to jump on the reaction of others.

That 'data' comes from Naichaca on Twitter & he's a d*ckhead. He spends his days cherry-picking whatever data to feed his Rog anxiety.
He aint wrong though, Roglic is not just gonna put 30 seconds into this field of climbers like fun like Jonas can. He needs to use bonus seconds and time trials, staying consistent etc. and limit losses in this shape.

No matter what it doesn't look good when you try to attack on a stage that is tailormade for you and fails, but in the process dropping your leader and dragging Mas and Ayuso to Jonas.

Come on, even you will have seen that Roglic just couldn't get away from Ayuso and Mas. The situation Vingegaard created is actually better than if they had all waited and protected Kuss, because now they have two guys way up ahead on GC. Should Kuss crack completely on one of the following stages (not unlikely, judging by today) there's at least still Vingegaard with a proper lead. And that's also good for Roglic, they can still play the game and Roglic can still follow wheels which is just much more suited to him.

Even having this conversation is a total deflection from what happened. Any thought for Kuss? Nah, f*ck him right.

Or are you going to say Kuss is a worse climber than Michael Storer on this sort of finish? (Storer finished between Vingegaard & the favorites group). Both Rog & Kuss got royally screwed here.
Give me a ten second answer to this: why do you think it is Ayuso is marking Roglic as the one to beat in order to get to the podium?

Jumbo has to win the Vuelta. Yes, then it's f*ck Kuss. They can't gamble on him staying good for the final week (a big question mark) when they have the numbers. If Vingegaard hadn't done what he did today they'd still be vulnerable, now they aren't.

Rog stopped when Kuss got distanced. Idk if he was told this, or if he did not have the legs. In any case giving Jonas 1:15 before you start riding (twice now) is bad for Rog, for the race and for cycling. We want to see some racing not this tactics on the final 6km climb where is should be full gas.

Lol no.
Jumbo had before this stage the three strongest climbers in the race as 1-2-3. Both Roglic and Vingegaard had a nice gap down to 4th. They have the strongest team by far even when removing the three leaders. Ayoso have basically no help and Mas have a bunch of roleurs and Rubio. There are no challengers to the Jumbo GC win. They were not vulnerable and today basically doesn't change anything regard Jumbo vs the rest, only big change for the internal situation of Jumbo.

I think all of what you guys are saying is true:
  • Vingegaard (/TJV?) have prioritized Vingegaard at the expense of Kuss and Roglic this entire Vuelta, including today, when they waited on him in the TTT (as they should have), when he bridged to Roglic on stage 6, bringing Mas, and on Tourmalet
  • This might be because they believe Vingegaard is the strongest and therefore the rational rider to support
  • This belief might be accurate, based on two Vinge raids (though not based on the ITT)
  • Vinegaard’s huge time gap today was due to bizarre riding
  • Roglic attacked at a seemingly inopportune time and did not seem very strong
  • It’s possible he sat up when he realized Kuss hadn’t come with him, but I think he just couldn’t make the difference
  • The most likely scenario is that Vinge successfully attacks to win the stage and overall on Angliru
  • Based on Roglic’s riding style, he will be unable to beat Vingegaard while riding with him unless Vinge has bad luck because the logical tactic is to send Vinge on early attack and for Roglic to counter rather than go with him, but Vinge is so strong that no one chases and this Roglic can’t counter
  • MF Naichaca is an anti-Roglic ***

You think in terms of everyone keeping the same level every day. You've seen today that's not how it works.

How stupid would they have looked by keeping everything together and then having Kuss get dropped and Roglic beaten in the sprint?
