No, he is not, even Pogacar is better than him at the moment.

Pogi, Jonas and Remco are for sure all good stage racers. I am personally happy Rogla can compete against them, makes his achievements even greater. Each having their set of virtues and vices.

Rogla is still the king, though.

Well, about that. I heard enough last pre season. About Rogla and Remco. But note that i am not trying to diminish Remco here. I even said it last pre season. That Rogla is underestimated and Remco will likely get burned. His chances with Pogi and Jonas were not worse.

But yeah, we all are looking forward to the Tour. Should be majestic this year. The already famous 111th edition of Tour de France!
Oh let me be very clear, I think Remco will beat Roglic in the tour if they go head to head and none of them run into any issues. It’s just that Vingegaard is at another level

You heard but you kept making up your own narrative and Roglic was going to be head and shoulders above everyone. But as they say, a broken clock is twice a day and it did occur twice.

In my personal opinion Remco can be the guy more close to vingegaard in the Tour, because he is the youngest of the four, and he is the one who has more room to improvement than pogacar and roglic.

Roglic is 34 years old, i find difficult to see him improving to a necessary level to beat vingegaard, that he never had.

Pogacar will go with the Giro in his legs and we already saw that vingegaard is a better GT rider than him.

The only one who has room to improve a lot is Remco because he's just 23 years old, and just like vingegaard, he started more later in profissional cycling. He can improve to a level that we never saw, and give at least some fight to vingegaard. There's a chance that it could happen or not, let's see, but it would make sense that Remco improves much more than the other opponents because of this factors.

Of course it can also happens some crash, some incident, he can fade again in the mountains, but theorically he has a room to a significative improvement.

I don’t agree (I think Roglic will beat Remco, barring not unlikely crashes / incidents), but I understand your reasoning, and you could be right. I want Roglic to win, but as long as he performs his best and gives a good fight, I’ll be stoked if Remco suddenly levels up to throw haymakers with Vingegaard. That would be great for the present and future of the sport.

Nah. Rogla can crack Jonas. At Vuelta Jonas had Rogla sitting back in the bunch, while attacking. Such luxury doesn't exist any more. Rogla will keep Jonas much closer and Bora will help him with that.
Not sitting in the bunch, you say. It's Roglic - extreme makeover time I take it ;)

I see, the narrative. Obviously Rogla has no chances but Remco will spur past Jonas.

You guys.

Well, as @Berniece explained earlier, then for sure Rogla will be somewhere there too.

Yeah.

You are decontextualizing what was being said here.

Firstable, i didn't said Roglic was a "old man", but if you put just one phrase of my reply when i said"Roglic has 34 years", you are going to decontextualize what i said.

Again the same, nobody said Remco is going to spur jonas.

He was old last season too. And the one before that one too.

Who knows. I see a stage or two, might be in the first week already. When Remco might go for it and leave Jonas behind. Obviously Rogla on his back wheel, but that is beside the point.

Looks like we came full circle. Was a nice pre season and thanks to all participants. Now it's time to get serious again. First batch of races scheduled in less then two months from now ...

We are ready!

If we took all the feelings and assumptions out of this debate, maybe even the whole forum, then Roglič being 34 would probably be one of the only things left. So thank god, we're not doing that.

Pog has plenty of room to improve. Has he been to that academy where losers are turned into winners yet?

Lol. Dude, I am a Roglic fan and have definitely never said he has “no chances.” What are you talking about?

Edit because my keyboard took control and typed something illegible the first go around.
