I don't think this is true at all, if we eliminate the uncertainty of the gap to BOC, this was one of the most solid Vuelta victories. He had major struggles in at least 2 previous editions where he had to fight for his life to stay in front. Not to mention he had to win Giro in the final ITT.IMHO, Roglic won his last big win in 2024 Vuelta. I feel he is fading, he is less consistent than ever, even in this Vuelta, he had some troubles occasionally. I will wait for his 2025 racing program to access how many wins he will get but if he races against Vingegaard or Pogacar all year, he will not get relevant wins, not even in Pais Vasco.
Yes, yes... Roglic is old and washed. He's just a wheel sucker and his teammates always dragged him up, so he could sprint at the end. He should just end his career already.
Thanks for answering my question.you're just flat out wrong though. the team fell apart once, on stage 20, because half the team got food poisoning. they still ended up with more riders than any other team in the selection on the penultimate climb, with a super ride from Roger Adria especially. what other stage did they fall apart on? on the only other mountain stage that they didn't dominate, stage 9, Roglic was in a group of 7 GC riders and still had a teammate with him the entire time, which nobody else had. everyone who attacked on that stage lost big time on the descent and final run in. on what stage did Roglic have to do anything but attack the last climb by himself? did you make this up in your own head?
here, since you clearly didn't watch the race i'll fill you in on what happened:
Stage 8: Martinez set a huge pace at the bottom of the final climb and split the group (with the help of a crash admittedly), Roglic then attacked repeatedly and won the stage. what else could they have done there?
Stage 11: Denz, Gamper and Martinez went into the breakaway, the first two fell back to help set a huge tempo on the final climb, in which Vlasov and Roglic dropped everyone with their own pace except for Mas. Roglic attacked, caught Martinez on the descent, who paced the group to help gain more time on the leader.
Stage 13: i mean, cmon. perfection.
Stage 15: Lipowitz dragged Roglic off the front of the GC group at the beginning of the steep part, but Roglic didn't have the legs to finish it off.
Stage 19: see stage 13
Thanks for answering my question.
I wonder if he just missed the right move when those 20 went away in the chase and just phoned it in, but I don't think he had much.
IMO he should normally be able to make that chase group at 2 laps to go, but he probably lacked endurance a lot. It's never been his strength, and he didn't get to rebuild it much for the Vuelta, which he won by just crushing everyone in fresh efforts.
I watched the race. It’s one of the few races I can actually watch live.just admit you were posting BS and didn't actually pay any attention to the actual race, watching you flail like this is uncomfortable

Can they? I thought there is only one spot?It was not his kind of race and most likely did not rebuild shape after Vuelta. It was obvious that he is not in top shape in ITT.
2025 ITT should suit him well. I wonder if both Slovenians will start in it in 2025.
Yeah, it gets boring. One day, someone will be right for sure, but i think this is not the time yet.2022: He won't win another GT.
2023: Giro was his last GT win.
2024: Vuelta was his last GT win.

As he was with Van Gils in the group of 30 riders that finished 39th and down, I think they were detached when Evenepoel began attacking.I wonder if he just missed the right move when those 20 went away in the chase and just phoned it in, but I don't think he had much.

I’m not the only one that’s said Bora was bad. Though I must have borrowed your eyes from the 2022 Vuelta. You’d think you’d be happy Roglic had arguably his second best Vuelta performance.ah alright, so it's just that your IQ matches the room temperature then. got it.
The guy had several hard crashes and had to quit the Tour. That's not ideal training to jump into a Vuelta and doubtful he's recovered from that effort. 2025 is a new year for everyone. Vingegaard has won how many GTs or major races this year? He's a question mark for 2025, too.IMHO, Roglic won his last big win in 2024 Vuelta. I feel he is fading, he is less consistent than ever, even in this Vuelta, he had some troubles occasionally. Depends on how long he wants to continue racing. From a statistical perspective it’d be nice to see him get TdS, TdF go for GC or stage hunt, and then fifth Vuelta and the record. What do you guys hope for Rog's career arc going forward? How competitive do you think he has to be in both/either GTs and/or prestige one-day races in order for his presence not to be icky/sad? Is there any risk that he'll carry on for too long and debase himself?
I can see him winning Giro and Vuelta if Pogi doesn't run.2022: He won't win another GT.
2023: Giro was his last GT win.
2024: Vuelta was his last GT win.

That's quite clear. It wasn't a moment that was caught too well on TV.As he was with Van Gils in the group of 30 riders that finished 39th and down, I think they were detached when Evenepoel began attacking.
I think he ran empty. That's quite clear. It wasn't a moment that was caught too well on TV.
There were some initial moves with MvdP on the rolling plateau, then Evenepoel and a few others bridged on the kicker before the main descent and Rog missed the move there.
Question is if he was just asleep at the wheel or just ran empty. At some point earlier I think the group was close to 20 guys and he was in it on top of Witikon then he did what Rog is prone to do and just parked it.
He didn't seem upset to say the least.
I'm by no means a stat nerd or even much of a basic records-checker (the now unrealized Remco Double-Double being an exception), but I wonder how long the typical GT-winner continues their career after last winning a GT, and how productive they remain in non-GT races. And then how long passes b/w when they last win any non-fixed criterium race and they retire.Depends on how long he wants to continue racing. From a statistical perspective it’d be nice to see him get TdS, TdF go for GC or stage hunt, and then fifth Vuelta and the record.
He wants Suisse so he can say he's the first one ever to have won all 7 big WT-races, before Pogacar does it basically.Suisse is what you think about when you havent won a GT in 4 years
Would love for him to race the Giro
It's the only one week WT race he hasn't won so far, so I think for him the standing of TdS might be bit higher in terms of career palmares.Suisse is what you think about when you havent won a GT in 4 years
Would love for him to race the Giro
