Look, I think the real reason RBBH will be disappointed about today's stage is because they wanted to test the whole team in a mountain stage ahead of the Giro. Yeah it's a pain because I also think Rog would have torched Ayuso if the stage had unfolded normally according to the original profile.

As for tomorrow, a part of me is actually quite curious to see how Rog does when he has to go on the offensive. I don't hold out much hope for the intermediate sprints against Ayuso so I think it'll come down to launching a nuclear watts bomb if possible, like the good old FW 2021 versus Alaphilippe days.

Rog went on the offensive last years Vuelta.

Montjuic is just reps, I don't think you make every lap hard, you just preserve everyone for the final lap. You need to launch the first part of the ramp hard.

The only positive about that hill is that basically nobody great on that type of effort ever needs to attack there in Catalunya. Pog is the exception, but Montjuic was probably Pogacar's single worst day last year and he still won it.

Boni seconds sprint and stage win, don't need to get away

Roglic rode great, gave just enough. Guy talks future even at the finish line, makes statements like everything he does is a building block for something bigger, better ,long term. He looked great side by side to other excellent riders. In same camera shot he came off as twitchy compared with Ayuso. Definitely confident.. He wins style points even if he doesn't win the race.
Style points only count if you win…

…unless you’re French.

Red Bull have the funniest team I've ever seen for Itzulia by the way, gone for the old 7 leader strategy, aka the no leader strategy. 'What we really need guys is 7 riders in the top 14 and none in the top 1' a disaster waiting to happen.

Much harder challenge ahead for tomorrow, for the grand finale, as everything was geared towards making the difference at stage 6. UAE will likely be aggressive through the whole stage and that likely comes down to three sprints. So i guess Rogla can afford giving away 1s at each intermediate for as long as the plan is winning the stage. The team likely isn't capable of setting Rogla up for the launch on the ultimate climb so that is a bit of a pickle. Hopefully therefore at least for there to be carnage on the penultimate climb. All in all Rogla is in my opinion a better sprinter and with a bit of luck involved can win this race by 1s advantage!

Vamos Rogla!
