The feeling is that if a cyclist of a certain leve goes to the Vuelta, he won't win it.

Luckily for him, since the World Championships are in Canada, after the Tour many of them will opt for the preceding Canadian classics.

Considering Rogla is sixth in GC, 32s down on race leader and Lipo second, 7s down on race leader, that is rather good outcome, some predicted much worse. Rogla could easily follow Pogi, on when he went, nobody else could do that. Returning to Lipo and helping him bridge across and riding in chasing group. That is rather sensible strategy, especially considering RBH was fantastic in term of tactics and it almost came together again. Tuckwell was there in the group, so that is that. RBH still has reserves and for example with Remco they could have bridged today and likely to win a stage, being in such position. Climber section still has huge reserves.

All in all i am happy and lets race and win this thing.

Nah, Rogla is not worse. Currently it's just that they are still finding themself, as a team. On how they rode today, if they would all be practicing that together till the start of the season, then today a RBH rider would IMHO win a stage.

We'll get there, today was a good sign it's coming.

This in no way addresses your earlier claims that the team had it in for Roglic. Which is silly, why would they. They simply are putting the best riders they have in the leadership role for whatever race.

And of course he was worse, he got dropped. Obviously.

Can he get better? Entirely possible. But the teams know the riders' numbers. They know who is in the best shape, and of course that's what they base their leadership decisions on, that and performance on the road.

Imagining that the team has it in for Roglic is just fanboy nonsense.

Rogla wasn't offered co-leadership for the Tour. Remco and Lipo where.

I won't complain too much today, as the team worked for Rogla and did a good job, 21s is reasonable, especially considering Rogla was the one that stomped Pogi on the hardest part and preped Lipo for the hunt. With Remco here today likely Rogla would be sprinting for stage win. So all in all i am happy and there are still reserves left. Tuckwell was there too.

Of course Rogla is already good enough plus this for sure isn't peak form. No it's not nonsense, Peiper went out public. That opinion had nothing to do with numbers and similar it's just what makes the most sense to some.

Still, who cares in the end. We see on how riders like Lipo race, when Rogla is in the team and Rogla is not too shabby either. On top of that i don't believe the team will sacrifice Lipo for Remco or something like that, so in terms of full leadership support they don't have it figured out anyway. Would be interesting to see on how Seixas joining would stir the dynamics. So all in all instead of focusing on Rogla supporting some rider they should rather ask themself on why a GT podium contenders or better can't handle 1km of climb in their team. This is on where they have real reserves. Rogla is not the problem here. Unless some fell threatened, i guess, getting rid of Rogla won't help there. And besides Rogla isn't going anywhere anyway.

Pulled on the climb. Likely to setup Lipowitz, then dropped back since he's not riding GC.

That's the gist of it.

Group was close to splitting when he pulled, it slowed down after he dropped off.

But really the much better hypothesis is that he does not give a shite about his own result this race and is there to keep the engine running a bit.

It's overall a much stronger indication that he's retiring after 2026 than that he's so bad right now he's also gonna be *** at the Vuelta.

Probably, but if he faces any resistance at the Vuelta then i am afraid he will loose that big time as well.
