He was never the monster talent someone thought he could be after his 2015 season, but this is much worse than his normal level. UAE is a mess.

He looked good @ the tour last year. Hope he can bounce back and tag-team with Landa on some tour stages.

The problem for aru has always been that he is very inconsistent and has bad days. But this year he is just consistently horrible. I really think his team at least has to be partly blamed. It can't be a coincidence that all the great riders who joined UAE this offseason are all of a sudden a shadow of their former self

Obviously, the Pinot vs. Aru discussion made me wish for Pinot to prevail and finally settle the debate. But first and foremost, I'm a cycling fan. I don't hate anybody, dislike a few, and respect all. As a rider myself, former small-time competitor, I have an idea of what these guys are going through. What I saw today, the pain, the suffering, made me cheer for Fabio Aru. I had visions, flash-backs of my worst struggles on a bike. I felt for him. He dug deep, he put his guts on the road. Respect.
Great indeed, very interesting part of post, should be recommended and followed by all fans of cycling.

That's the wrong way to solve an inconsistency issue...

Thank you. Coming from you, it matters to me. :)

Sometimes we forget that these guys, even the also-ran, are the top 1% of the top 1%. They possess a unique ability to handle pain and suffering. They may come across like my chouchou Tibopino as gentle, some take it as weak, when in reality every pro rider is a killing machine. They can pretty much do an Ironman everyday for three weeks. This is the ultimate sport. There's nothing like a cycling GT. The difference between first and 50th is what? 2%, 3%?

RAI gave us, if we pay attention and go beyond PCM cycling, a glimpse of what this is about. Pain and suffering. Not to be biblical about it, but Aru is carrying a massive cross right now. One can only feel empathy.

I'm starting to worry that Aru is suffering from the Locatelli curse, like most other Locatelli riders.

He started road cycling pretty late and it took a while until he got good results under Locatelli, so I don't think it's a prime example of the Locatelli curse. Of course you could say the same about a few Colpack riders who were world class in the U23 ranks and haven't done a lot as pros.

Pozzovivo was with Locatelli and he 's having his best season at 35. Aru has been spread like a Lemon at astana.

What is the point in drafting during a TT that you can't win and that won't improve your GC anyway?

quitting is considered weak, getting kicked out is better?

He is already showing that he is back. Should be good for the morale with his performance today.

Maybe the first problem is his lack of quality and the second one is his lack of character!

I used to like him actually. But he's not doing himself any favors to appear likable lately.

Great TT performance! Although I'm wondering how much of a factor the drafting was
How can we take this performance seriously? He probably drafted the whole way. 37 seconds behind Rohan Dennis in a flat TT. He was dead two days ago, come on.

Have to say that I consider pure amateurism to punish someone and not to publish proofs. At the moment it is more or less hearsay.

He may have got off lighly only 20 seconds, compared to others, not that it matters that much

UAE cheated their way through that TT

And people take of doping while another form of cheating is right in front of their eyesand just as bad
UAE must be desperate
Yeah, look what have they done... Almost a whole page here about their show today, while there was a post here and there so far.
I find their PR approach inventive.

Lol...this result is absurd. One of the biggest wtf performances in recent years, at least as far as I can remember.
