How big was the group he finished with? At least it was big and that basically means it shouldnt really surprise us that he was there. And then the sprint itself was rather underwhelming so this race rather made me question if he is a future cobbles classic contender than it made me convinced that he is.DNP-Old said:

Agree to disagree. I find it highly impressive that someone, who is just 21 years old and is riding his first ever race on cobblestones, managed to do the things he did. THIS GOES FURTHER THAN JUST THE RESULT, just pointing that out in case anyone hadn't noticed and didn't think (or isn't able to) that far.Gigs_98 said:

His ride was not amazing by any means! He was good through out the race, but he blew up in the sprint. That means he needs much more strength to be competitive in this races. And Dwars is only 200km... I know he's young, and this is his first race on the cobbles, but he was not amazing believe me! He was good, but he needs much work and much to learn to be competitive in such races.

That is not possible. A rider cannot be this good this young and avoid large amounts of hype and pressure. Hype and pressure are an automatic consequence.

Looked like he just opened his sprint too early, and gave up as riders went past him. A bit more experience and he might have won.
