According to FIFA politics, the current status with Germany and Ghana going through the next round is the correct one.

If the Group D games remain draws then Germany goes through with Ghana. Someone in the Australia and Serbia match needs to score.

I also must ask a question. What are they feeding people in Serbia? Their players are huge. Very tall men. Maybe they have no other sports to play other than basketball or tennis.

Australia need to score a few goals or hope that germany does it fo them.

As for the size of the lower slavic people - Croatia (Catholic lower slavia as opposed to protestant united slavia -serbia and sunni lower slavia -bosnia) have produced 5 tennis players.
Ivanisevic -195 cm
Ancic- 195 cm
Ljubicic- 195 cm
Karlovic - 210 cm
Cillic- 195 cm.

Yes they are quite big those lower slavs.

Australia scores. Now we need a few more to make up goal difference. Keep it up boys.

Cahill- shouldnt he be suspended?:D
Have the serbian defense tried their superman handball dives yet?

Australia in the lead vs. Serbia... But the goal difference between them and Ghana is still big. I think either Ghana needs to concede three more, or Australia score three more... Or a combination thereof to go through.

There are very Protestant Slavs. Most Serbians are Othodox.

Australia now have 2. Come on Germany, help us out a bit. Awesome strike by Holman. To those who don't know, he has been described as our worst player over the past two years. He hasn't played like it this world cup.

Cahill was the red from the first match. Kewell the second game. Timmy sat his one match out against Ghana.

No the Serbians haven't, but the ref is keeping everyone honest. He's doing a superb job keeping everyone calm as both teams are getting animated with the score line being as it is.

FIFA badly needs an African team in the knock-out phase and Ghana is the only one with real chances. Germany is just playing well, despite the accident with Serbia. They're also a big fish.

Looks like it will be Germany-England Sunday.

The English might be confused, do they cheer for their team or the homeland of their Queen?

i was joking that his first red was so vicious that it deserved a 2 match ban

I assumed that. I wasn't sure whether you heard about how many games Cahill was handed in his ban. At the time there was talk of a 2 match ban.

Schwarzer makes a dog of it and Serbia get one back. This blows. Ghana in my opinion have been the poorest team in the pool, yet they will go through with less than ten minutes left unless Serbia find another 2. How do Ghana do it? With two spot kicks none the less. Sad and undeserved.

How can it be the biggest rivalry when the Germans don't really care about the English? :p

Silly, self-important English

2-1 Serbia.... No miracle :(:(:(

Terrible mistake by the goalie, who has been so good.

They happen. Before that Australia's goal difference was -2 and Ghana's was 0. We needed another one and for Germany to score. Germany look like they're taking it easy, with no need to score. Sad, but that is how the pool has played out. Oh well, Serbia and the Socceroos are certainly both trying.

If only our attitude had been better in the first game. If we'd only conceded 2 we might have had a chance. At least they reversed their attitude and have run their butts off.

Its that serbian idiots fault for that flying handball under no danger, so stupid that it at first seemed like a computer glitch.

Well done to the Socceroos and also to Verbeek. He put a solid team on the pitch who played their best in the final two matches. Good to see he changed the dynamics up after the first round.

Now can England do the same? Can Capello get it together? I hope so.

Johnnie Mac. I love that guy. He says the stupidest things and speaks his mind without any thought or concern for what he is actually saying. Apparently Operation Puerto's blacklist had a lot of tennis players on the list, so he is kind of correct. Tennis is an endurance sport (the men's game is) but still behind cycling. I'd argue the longer matches are on par with football, but skill and finesse on the court reduces the need for endurance stamina.
