Craig foster has some idea, this I will not deny (I believe he has his own article in NSW also.. not sure.. but that is nice also if true), but the reason I have been frustrated by him in the past is that he tends to be biased at times, and when he does - especially regarding australia - he voids reason. He ain't bad, but not good either.
But yes the SBS team on a whole -- and most of the foxtel team in australia - are clueless (I think bosnic is quite good actually).

Didnt your mum and dad cuddle you enough as a child , where are the positive thoughts , is there anyone you are a fan of.:p

Arsenal, Ferrari, Michael Schumacher, Valentino Rossi, Spanish cylists,Aussie female triathletes and our swimmers. I am big fans of these teams and people. I also like Aussie surfers. I like some of the socceroos but know it isn't worth wasting my time buying into the hype. I like to see attractive football and the Socceroos show none of it. Arsenal's reserve team would wipe the floor against the Socceroos. I'll cheer for the Socceroos but expect nothing. Australia is out of it's depth in the football scene on a global scale. We are physically strong and aggressive but that does not make up for the lack of grass roots development and premier coaching our country lacks. I have a backup team to cheer for. Actually two. Spain and England, who I think can both make the final.

Don't know if you have Austar/Foxtel Galic, and therefore ESPN, but I can't stand Tommy Smyth. Jesus H Christ he is annoying.

Had ESPN, don't have it anymore. Tommy Smyth is annoying. Made viewing unbearable for me. That's when it is time to switch the channel.

Arnie is going to be coach of CCM so it begs the question what will happen with our coaching structure come post SA

And what grinds my gears is the Craig Foster bashing - id take him over 90% Aussie commentator/analysits any day of the week! I agree with u there Galic

My favourite team in the A League are the Mariners. I forgot Arnold was moving there. I thought they might appoint the junior team, under 21, coach up. He is really good. His name eludes me at this time of night.

I heard FFA had interviewed Riijkaard. Another Dutch coach, but arguably the best out there along with Van Basten. One can hope they get him to coach the Socceroos whilst he stays at Galatasaray. Hiddink won't be coming back. He's going to the Cote D'Ivoire last I heard.

Hope Holland win. I've supported them in big tournaments since France 98 (best tournament ever).

Mainly because Wales never qualify for anything :p

I know who you are refering to but i cant think of him either!

Riijkaard would be choice so hopefully Harry will wisper in his ear! I think he will bring his man with him as a AC but I wonder how much of Asia does he know about so since 99% of our stuff will be strutted there he might bring a third man in (personally Id like to see a Aussie coach myself)

The only problem I see is another hiddink/verbeek situation where they only stayed around 1 year and didnt give a rats about the future of the Roos - our stars will retire after SA and what the coach does next will be what determins if we get there in Brazil so we cant afford to have that.

Hiddink signed for turkey. He has no job atm however, so when Ivory coast sacked thier coach a lot of speculation surrounded him.

And Van Basten isn't that great. Arrogant man, made a lot of poor decisions and created unnecessary tension while in charge.

Riijkaard however, is one of the best out there. Was very disappointed when he resigned from the dutch team.

oh btw

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/128538,pim-why-i-picked-my-roos.aspx

Pim has made his squad - and I like how hes made his reason behind his choices known

hes got 31 there which some are injury covers for sure so we are hoping they are not needed

Don't agree with all of them but mostly the right players. Glad to see Nicky Carle on the list. Jade North and Michael Beauchamp don't deserve to be on the squad but there are no other options. God help us if Kewell, Emerton, Cahill or Bresciano get injured. Thankfully Schwarzer has had an amazing last two seasons at Fulham. That man is a match winner...especially if a game goes to penalties.

I know Van Basten isn't great but he has some decent results. More than Pim can boast on his CV.

Did not realise Hiddink had signed for Turkey. I was disappointed to see Guus's tactics once again let down a good team. Russia should have beaten Slovenia. Shame to not see Arshavin in South Africa. Funny guy and great player...totally Russian and a massive misogynist. His comments about British society once moving to London are priceless. He never holds back.

Argentina's strikers named in their 30-man provisional squad:

Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid), Martin Palermo (Boca Juniors), Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Diego Milito (Inter), Carlos Tevez (Manchester City), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli)

And there is also Mauro Zarate waiting in the wings as well. ****ing ridiculous at that quality of depth.

Portugal called up 6 center-backs. God knows why.
Better yet, they've repeated the same shenanigan they do in every other major international tournament.....ever.

Namely, arbitrarily don't select a guy who played every game in qualifying.

At this point it's just becoming so ridiculous it's funny :D

And with a bit of luck Boulahrouz makes the final selection for the Netherlands, so Ronaldo, better watch out.

I guess Ronaldo should be glad that is Real Madrid and Portugal team mate Pepe chose Portugal instead of Brazil. If one thinks back to that infamous match between Real Madrid and Getafe.

I know they are not in the same group, but you know second round etc.

a loss forsure.
Germany's team already seems some what 'weak' compared to the other 'big guns' imo.

Nice to see both VdV and Sneijder back from injuries and playing this w.e

While I know that it's technically different, Michel Platini today announced that UEFA 2016 will go to France....

Shocking how that election turned out.

As long as they don't pick Poland & Ukraine again I'm fine with it.
I'd be happy if they'd just do it in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
