The way this world cup has been going, and with the humidity in Manaus, I can see one team just capitulate like Spain and Uruguay did.

England less pressure, so maybe them. Say 3-0 or 4-1 or some such.

at least one OG.

Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney still look like there are only 21! Magnificent how beautiful the English are. Not to be compared to the Columbians seen earlier in the thread. ;)

Arsenal have a gem of a player in Joel Cambell,

Gooner, did he play any games last season?

He was on-loan at Olympiakos. You might remember his goal where he nutmegged Carrick against United in the Champions League.

I looked out for him quite a bit at Lorient and Betis when we loaned him there, and I found him inconsistent. He has good quality and he got a couple of superb goals for Betis and one very good one against Spain in a friendly. He looked quite good against United but I haven't seen any of the Greek League last season. I did read he was showing good progress there.

He's has spent 3 years out on loan so I think he might be eligible for a work permit now. Whether Wenger keeps him or not is another thing, I think he's a far better player than Sanogo for instance.

Manaus, one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Skyscrapers and a million+ inhabitants in absolute no mans land.

I think Rooney might score tonight.

Too bad mankind even builds stinking and polluting mega cities in rain forests....
Let them all suffer tonight.

Giovane Elber belives that neither Italy nor England are capable of scoring a goal, he says on German TV, thus he believes it will be 0:0.

Lol. Mankind needs to live, too. That's not so say I agree with the tree cutting (in which Brazil has made big big strides) but come on why aren't we allowed to live in the rainforest?

1-0 Italy. Boring.

5-3 Italy. Exciting.

I think you're right though, England vs Italy is one of those games that sound good on paper but will be boring in reality, even with the games we've already seen.

They're playing in the greenest part of the planet and they had to paint the field green :)

BBC has a great pundit lineup by the way with a doper and a cheater :D
They are talking about Pirlo now. I respected him, but his comments 2 weeks ago about how Barcelona don't dope (despite all the evidence), no doping in Italian Football, scapegoating cycling, tell a tale.

Imho it's a pretty easy 0-0. Although we already had a fair amount of surprises...

Well like with cycling I am able to split personality and player, you kinda have to in sport in this day and age.

The pitch is so bad, maybe that'll help.
England has a lot of fast quys on the pitch. Maybe they can score on the break, if of course they can string 3 consecutive passes together.

By the way, English gents among us, while I really like not having to sit through ads on the Beeb, do you like it as much as I do? Especially as they have to pay millions of pounds to get footage of this commercial event, they could earn back a big part of that expense by showing some ads around the game...

As soon as the BBC start showing ads I'll stop supporting them.

The World Cup is guaranteed to be on terrestrial TV in the UK, it's on the protected list. I don't know how much they pay for it, but that must have a massive effect on the possible costs.

John Giles over here said a good point about England man marking Pirlo. He said if they do it, Pirlo will move further forward from his deep lying midfield role and drag his man away which will free up space for Veratti to dictate the game.

I'm going for a Italy win.

It's the same in the Netherlands, all matches are live on the government supported broadcaster, but they are allowed to show ads. I hate ads, but it does mean I have to pay less in taxes to see this WC.
