Really don't like this 2 games at once thing. Some of the groups I want to see both games.

Fifa does it in order to stop teams rigging games, but as US vs Germany shows you can have that situation anyway. + Its very rare for it to happen. When a situation does look like it can happen you can just make the potentially rigged game go first.

It would be sort of understandable if Fifa actually cared about fairplay. But they make no effort to stop teams being screwed out through disallowed goals - eg Bosnia. Yet they sacrifice entertainment to stop some meaningless **** like this.

God, I hate Balotelli, cheating, diving scum.

Good news is he can't score when he's on the ground. And Chiellini can't defend if he's down crying. Eventually Italy will dig their own grave: (another) hand ball, taking a dive, something.

...at least that's what this Uruguay fan is telling himself. It does seem like Uruguay is gradually wresting control of the match from Italy, so hopefully that means the azzurri are losing steam. Hopefully.

EDIT: Having written all that, I've started drinking already. Suarez isn't looking to have the first step he needs to carry Uruguay today.

The foul for which he got booked was pretty creative though. Haven't exactly seen this kind of senselessly over jumping an opponent up until now.

He'll miss the potential next match though. I just fear Italy will go through somehow and continue "gracing" the cup with this wonderful football.

ITA-URU has been pretty dire to watch. Uruguay is going to have to send more men forward if they ever want to score. Suarez on his own has no chance.

Balotelli leaves the match for Parolo.
I mean ok Balotelli was useless, but what's the plan behind this move? Is he capable of playing in CAM? Or will they go back to this horrible horrible Y-Shape?

So Italy at the wrong end of an awful ref...

So you just so I understand it, if something unfair is caused by the ref, you are furious. It it's unfair and shamefull like in Gijon and the Gijon 2.0 you are wishing for it's good and you love it? You truly are full of wonders and surprises. ;)

Buffon! Still a hero. But please for the last time in this match.

That´s for sure... I am not mainstream. :D

For further explanation:
If games are played by the rules, I see no problem. If two teams have a win win situation, why should they go all out, risk injury, yellow/red cards, if they can just walk trou to the elimination round? There is no foul in that. Both teams earned that situation by having scored enough points upfront (as it was after 11 minutes in AUT-GER 1982).
It´s the same when Bayern Munich secured the championship in early Octobre. ;)
They didn´t go full throttle after having prevailed. And it´s their right...

OTOH, if bettors or refs influence the game, it´s blatant cheating.

On yet another other hand; if Suarez make a game saving foul (using his hands to prevent Ghana to score), get´s penalized by the rules everybody agreed upfront (red + penalty kick), there is no right for Ghanians to whine about it, and cry foul.

But on yet another other hand; if Suarez bites the opponent, doesn´t get red carded, but his team has a unfair advantage (11 vs 10) and scores the 1-0 seconds later, it´s most obvious cheating there is...

Nice Godin, but WTF, Saurez!?! Another bite?

EDIT: @Foxxy, I think Suarez will be out for the rest of the Cup.

Ironically, the stoppage time Italy earned with their time wasting will benefit them.

EDIT: Only 5. Italy earned a LOT more than that. ;) Can they add more than 5 minutes?

Both these teams going through to quarters imo, from what ive seen.

Looks like England likely to get Brazil in rematch of 2002 (or Spain or Chile I suppose) and Italy could face Holland.

Teams that will beat Costa Rica and then Colombia or Cote d'ivoire

Bada bing bada boom, quarter finals.

Worst prediction ever?
