suarez is nuts.
i hope they let him play on though.
i personally find the biting less bothersome than some of the machismo-style agression and some of the heavy tackling that some players get away with these days.
suarez is unlikely to injure anybody.
some tackles are much more dangerous sometimes leading to longterm injuries, though the offender never gets a corresponding longterm punishment.

He denies biting anyone and then falls over holding his teeth !

i know.
i didn't deny it was ***** from suarez.
but was he going to injure anybody?
people are talking about a two-year ban, but i have trouble seeing why.
perhaps because biting is an unconventional thing to see on the pitch?
meanwhile players suffer longterm injuries due to heavy tackling that is hardly punished.

Dude, the ball was 30m away. Normaly there's at least the pretense of fighting for posession. This qualifies as a downright assault if you ask me. Completely unacceptable.

Don't know what FIFA is planning, but if he was on my team, he'd be on the first flight out of there.

(and yes, I actually feel bad for the guy, but I mean what can you do?)

Tackling is part of the game, biting less so

If you want to call them Central American I'll give you Mexico, but all of Costa Rica falls within the same latitude as northern parts of Colombia and Venuzuela, so I'll stand by calling them South American.

You're kidding, right? I'm assuming they have basic World Geography classes where you're from?

...uh.....okay....I mean, they aren't a South American country, but....okay.

Spain lies on the same latitude as many Asian countries, so I'll stand by calling them Chinese...

I would say its not worth of any argument, its irrelevant,as they are both latinos, thats what counts (nobody gives a .... if central or south);)

King Boonen said:
No, I'm not kidding. Feel free to point which part you disagree with though. Are you saying Costa Rica is not at the same latitude as parts of Colombia and Venuzuela?

Yes, it falls at a similar latitude which means exactly nothing.

So I guess the parts of South Korea that are further north should be called North Korea and the areas of North Korea that are near Seoul should be called South Korea? We should probably say Alaska is actually in Canada while we're at it. What about Lesotho? That should be called South Africa, right? I mean, it's completely surrounded by it, after all.

Costa Rica is not a South American country. Neither is Mexico, Panama or any other North American country that happens to fall on a latitude equal or close to the latitude of some South American countries.

Argentina-Nigeria
Iran-Bosnia
Neutral on both matches.A defeat for Nigeria combined with a Iran win can send Iran in second stage.

It's Football not Biteathon. He has a history of this as well as deliberate handballs amongst other things. Who in their right mind walks up to someone and bites him on the chest ? It's like Brazilians having the ball hit them in the leg and then fall over holding their head. It's defective and if FIFA give him a lengthy ban he deserves it. The Uruguayans are blaming the English media ! What if he had hepatitis or some other virus ? The guy is such a brilliant player but to say this is out of character is untrue. And the Italian coach has offered to resign presumably based on the result of this game which could have been different if he was sent off. The Liverpool response will be interesting if he gets a lengthy ban.

Do you know what latitude means?

San José: 37.3333° N
Caracas 10.5000° N
Cartagena 10.4000° N

i know the guy is insane in the brain, but again, that for me is no reason to ban him for two years.
there are plenty of wackos on the pitch.
give him one or two games, basta.
he didn't injure nobody.

on a side, I've always been in favor of the idea of banning players for the period the guy who they've injured is out of play.

How many times has someone broken a players leg in the last 10 years? Serious question. I know Witzel did it in Belgium a few years back, but there can't be many.
substitute the leg for any random injury inflicted to you by foul play.

take kevin prince boateng and ballack in 2010.
imo, boateng should not have been allowed to play at the world cup in 2010.
