He said he wanted to be good again at the italian races. I don't think he did do anything specific for the canada races. He could have been better though. He was dropped with 40 - 50 guys remaining at the Montreal race. Perhaps he is going to altitude now.

Hmmm, not in the startlist for Emilia and also not for Tre Valli...
What's up? The Italien classics should have been his last season highlight, where he wanted to participate in good form...

As far as I know he would have been able to ride the bike but they decided to rest and also did surgery to his nose to fix his problems with viral infections.

Good ride today, but I would still expect him to be closer in level to Gall, who was admittedly pretty strong today. But I don‘t know how much his training has been impacted before, of course.

Lipo is proving once again in 2026 that he is a really good general classification rider. Especially given that he does have a few health issues this spring. He is probably also the best GC rider at RBH at the moment when there are really long climbs involved. But today, for example, it became clear once again that one weakness remains: a lack of explosiveness. He himself has already said that he needs to work on this. And he’ll have to keep doing so. In modern cycling, it’s all about seconds, time bonuses and so on. If you keep losing seconds here and there and can’t launch fierce attacks to break away, then it’s enough for great results but rarely for victories. That’s his problem at the moment. I hope he improves in that area, much like his team-mate Pelizzari, because only then can he hope for victories.

The thing is, currently he seems to be at his least explosive level ever, making Uijdtebroeks look like Valverde. We‘ll see if it gets better later in the season but right now all he can do is go for podiums in these races and hope he‘s got another level from June onwards like last year.

Limited rider with a loser mentality. He will not win important races for sure since he doesn't have a real weapon.
All likely true except for the loser mentality part, I don‘t know what this is based on. He chased solo today at first before realising he had no chance, he couldn‘t fight for the win against Vingegaard or in Algarve or ever since 2025 Paris-Nice basically

I look forward to the inevitable collision Lipowitz and Gall are on for the Maglia in some random early 2030s Giro that the top few riders forget to go to. It will a truly legendary clash.

I’m not a super fan but I like Lipowitz and want him to do well. However, I don’t see any scenario in which he ascends above like 2017 Uran or Landa or 2024 Almeida level. With his skillset and the competition he is at risk of literally never winning anything, which would be a true shame.

He was clearly racing for second just like his master (Roglic).
