The Feds do not like to be lied to. Hamilton and Landis will soon go to a prison cell, right were they belong. The Feds looked into Hamiltons and Landis testemonies, they couldn't find anything, so they were lying to the Feds. Birotte do not like that the Feds time and money were wrongly used to nothing, so he will make sure that Tyler and Floyd would be charged. I guess at least 10 year for both of them. Justice for all. Justice at last. The truth allways win.

My sources tell me that major things could happen at tuesday, they didn't say if it's this tuesday, but it would be a tuesday, that's for sure..

I think we can all agree this is a waste of taxpayer funds, a witch hunt,

Yes, I said that upthread though for probably different reasons than you. I am sure you think it is a witch hunt because LA was mean to FL.

LA sure is powerful. Those political connections  that got him off turn around and snag the reformed hero for fraudulently soliciting funds lol. Those federal investigators were so pizzed the slam dunk LA case was dropped that they started feeding upon the little guy whose bombshells started this whole thing. Kinda like eating your young.

RR, can you shed some light on the inner workings of the LA political connections that have turned the force of the govt back upon the little guy that is just trying to do right? Have you conferred with Betsy yet to come up with a theory all of you can get behind? I am sure you guys are convinced this is the work of the evil LA machine. Your petty one-liners like the one I quoted do little to get the hate crowd all worked up....you need some new material.

In England it's what we call "taking the p1ss" - I think you missed the joke.

Maybe this is Nov's backdoor way of getting the Lance file out in the open. Floyd said "charge me" then we can introduce all the evidence collected.

Perhaps it's brilliant. But, the strategy has a fundamental problem. People won't put 1 + 1 together and make 2. If it gets all the way to trial, there will no doubt be some good information. Most people will simply refuse to make the association and demand crimes be punished. Americans like their cheats until they get caught. I'm not talking about the Wonderboy faithful either.

I think if the narrative is constructed like another cycling scandal (Festina?) then I think it might have a shot because would be familiar. It fits a well established perception.

If it's new or complicated, then I don't think it will stick. I'm thinking of how the Livestrong.scam story played out.

First of all it wasn't something that "happened in some bike race in France". He solicited money under false pretenses.

I do agree it is a waste of taxpayer's money. It should not be against the law to dupe stupid people into giving their money away. This goes on in church every Sunday morning.

I am glad that you are in the know about the whole FFF saga. It is also nice that you are a source for reassuring us that Floyd alone set this whole thing up.

Now I won't have to lie awake at night wondering if there is more behind this than what we see on the surface. I'm sure that Lance is more than happy about how everything is falling into place for him. Cool.

That's no more an indication of lying than Birotte's dropping the case is a declaration of innocence. Note that Birotte never said anything of the sort.

Why now? Why this town?

Interesting to note the state of California is playing a card in the dropping of the Armstrong case and the filing of the Landis case.

Am I wrong?

Yup...and it also happens to be be were Fabiani lives. After spending the last 10 years working towards a new Chargers stadium he is well connected

I am sure it seemed like a good idea at the time but now I fail to see how going after Floyd is anything but negative for Wonderboy

One thing is for sure, we'll see Lance on a witness stand, one way or another. We'll see if he takes the 5th, or just "can't recall".

I would be nice if it worked out that way, but I'm not sure any information about Lance would be allowed, in court, out in the open. Unless Lance is charged and on trial I'm not sure a judge would allow that. On the other hand, I don't know anyone, maybe other than the judge, in a hearing between Floyd and the Feds who would be concerned about protecting Lance.

I would agree. Going after Floyd, even if successful is a dead end street. It does nothing for Armstrong fading statue. Makes him look worse & worse.

Evil, evil man. There cannot be any joy to be gained from this.

Alas it will keep us busy for the next few months.

It's times like this we need the insightful guidance of Polish

I'm hoping there is insufficient evidence of fraud, and that no charges will be launched against Floyd. This has to be stressful for Floyd, and I hope he realizes he has a lot of support for whatever that is worth. Although if charges are launched, the Floyd Haters will be mean and ugly. And I am not talking about those who used to mock Floyd for "sleeping on a couch with his cats". Most of those haters switched sides after the e-mails. I'm talking about the Lance fanboys who will be hating on Floyd. It would be nice if Lance offered support to Floyd and nipped those Floyd haters in the bud,

Anyway, I wonder if this investigation has anything to do with that "Champions Club" member who becamed miffed at Lance for Livestrong's rejection of a business deal a couple years ago. I can't recall the guys name, nicknamed "Tiger" or something like that....and the guy bankrolled some of Floyd's defense and also encouraged Floyd to do the whole "E-Mail" thing as a way to get back at Lance and the gang if I recall the story correctly.

Very interesting comments Polish.
You are pretty good with names, though. :)

It's tough to think what my perspective might be of this situation if I liked both Floyd and Lance...

Not a win/win for all.

It would never come in because the judge would immediately vaporize any prosecutor who wasted time in his courtroom talking about Lance. The prosecutor, who really wants to keep it simple for the jury, would never try it because it would really confuse the jury. Floyd's public defender isn't going to waste any time on a 'blame it on Lance' defense (because he/she won't have the sweet secret evidence).

Floyd, if charged, will plead guilty. He's already confessed his rear off and acceptance of responsibility is often a ploy that reduces or eliminates prison time. He's already expressed contrition publicly.

It's a serious crime when you lie to the Feds, so stop sticking your head into the sand. Fraud Landis, Tyler, Betsy, Greg and other liars will be taken down one by one by the Feds. This is just the beginning. They are all going to prison. Be aware. The truth allways wins. Justice will prevail. The liars will be punished. Another seven in a row all over again. Fraud Landis - Tyler - Betsy - Greg - Frankie - Filippo - Steve all will be charged...going down one by one. 1 -2 -3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7. Seven in a row.

I'd like to know Lemond's take on all this - including the dropping of the Lance case.

I guess I'll just settle for danjo's expert analysis.
