Hopefully Pinot can have a really good Tour GC this year and then maybe the Frenchies on the side of the road won't be so rude to the best rider in the race (Froome). :p
Give it just over a decade and half the French population will have been born after their last TDF victory. Can they win a Tour before then? Who knows, but I'll eat my hat if they win this year's one.

Yeah, I don't see him winning it but I do think he'll go very well. It seems FDJ have really got their *** together in terms of training and preparation.

Do you want Frenchy fries as a side or a small salad? :D

Seriously, I don't see it either. Marc Madiot listed a top-5 for Tibopino as the objective. Achievable, but not a gimme.

don't think see, he's been reported to be hanging on the car of the his team when brought back after his crash

just like Bouhanni earlier on this season towed up a hill by his teammates...

the french don't dope anymore they use other means now...

Yes, only the french cheat.

It's rich coming from Capecchi, employee of Astana.
I didn't hear him when Nibali did that in Florenza, back in 2013.

The truth is - Marc Madiot and his team are a thorn in bigger teams' feet.
He's opposed to Velon, to Lefevere, to Brailsford and Ochowitz. He's opposed to their reforms and they don't like that. So they are whining right now.

not only Cappechi, also Tossato...

it's not the DS who are complaining it's the riders...

Madiot, with his past, should have retired long ago...

Come on. The allegation is incredibly serious. We're not talking about a little bit of ''magic spanner'' out of the window on the flat. Are you not suspicious about how Demare got back to the peloton after the crash and then had the energy to win the race?

This is from two different riders, from two different teams. No way would they make this up.

Démare will respond to these allegations later in the day.

ah he will admit he cheated, give back his win and will be awarded the Légion d'Honneur tomorrow by the president LOL ...

or else he will contest with the support of Madiot who will confirm it wasn't at 80km/H but only at 75 and he held on the 2nd car not the first car of FDJ

case closed

Have Lefrvere, Brailsford and the Och moaned about the result?

Or is paranoia breaking out

Let's wait and see. In this day and age, dashboard cams, cellphones rule...

I don't believe the 80 km/h thing. It's a bit like the story of the sardine who blocked the entrance of Marseille's harbor. A little exaggerated IMO. But the two guys saw something. What was it? Was it enough to warrant a penalty?

Several teams have reasons to hate Madiot, who for example spoke against Astana and has a feud with Oleg.

We'll know.

Now I'm quoting myself :D . Yep, the 80 km/h thing was a "little" exaggerated...consistent cadence, consistent speed, therefore consistent gear...that's not indicative of someone hanging on to a car  . A little faster than the rest shows drafting...maybe a sticky bottle along the way (I'm not calling the two "liars"). When passing cars to get back to the main field, drafting is to be expected. Alexandre, yes: "Fair and Square".

yeah right, Demare will win the TDF if he rides the Cipressa with a maximum speed of 52 km/h.......

Simon Yates did 54km/h.

Don't use logic here, it's not welcome. ;)

Great win for Demare and very happy to see a French rider winning one of the biggest races of the year. Got to hope there is more to come over the next few years from a very promising crop of young riders.

Surprisingly enough none of the other top finishers/teams are complaining. So they must be ok with it. Or they must have done a similar thing in the past. Nobody wants skeletons to be dug out.

Nice result for neo-pro Guillaume Martin : 11th on today stage, between Purito and Dan Martin.

Ah, cool -- I hadn't noticed. By the way, what's Pierre LaTour up to this summer? I assume he's not riding the Tour yet. But maybe the Tour de Suisse?
I believe it will be Route du Sud yet again. And he's scheduled to do the Vuelta.
