Froome signed a big three year contract with Sky last year after the Vuelta. He had loads of offers and chose to stay. Who exactly is going to buy him out of that?

He's going nowhere.

Thanks for info.

One thing, though, with a rider like Froome on a team, it's not viable for another rider--Wiggins--to be vacuuming up all the races for another two years. They are going to have to ride for Froome in some good races, not just the local hicksville criteriums, or what have you.

Been reading all I could about yesterday's stage but I haven't seen any question/answer about what happened to Froome after Nibali's second attack and how the heck he recovered so well, that's pretty unique!

I dont quite get the rope a dope concept of Froomy's girlfriends tweets.

Was she inferring that Wiggans was faking difficulty and didnt want Froomy to get closer to him.

Pretty much, that's it. And in some way I agree with her. Unlike her I think Wiggins wasn't in trouble at all. I think he just let the other chase down Froome knowing the attack was far enough out for Froome to be called back. Afterwards Wiggins says how 'tired he was for riding tempo for 2k (!)' but he still managed to stay with VdB/Nibs easily at the end.

Read these twits...hum, as much as Froomey seems to be a nice humble guy it seems he's gone for the opposite with that chick...guess that comes with the money...

"rope a dope" ? If anything it seems that Froomey was playing mind games by dropping out when Nibali attacked the second time and then coming back in full force. When was the last time anyone here saw something like that on a climb ? I thought so, Riis on Hautacam 1996!

I could see a Froome at Orica, etc. Right "cultural" fit, etc. Important: look how Hushvod could not quite fit with Garmin.

Yr Orica isn't a bad place for Froome. OPQS should be another option. OPQS lacks a top notch GC rider,(They have only the aging bottle) and have plenty of money.
Both these teams have a very good medical staff and Froome will be the leader for any Grand Tour he wishes to ride.

LOL yup, but may explain the other day as(maybe stereotyping here:D) but froomes missus doesnt seem the domestique/c type :p

We were already doing it with Cav and his girlfriends dodgy tweets in the first week, times are hard man!

On the plus side it's pretty entertaining winding the girls up on twitter;)

My gf doesn't care or watch me when I ride at all, nor ask for my results. :eek:
She just ask how many times i fell and if I feel allright (which I don't ofc wth)... then start to ask to go here and there for shopping, or to go out for dinner.
Is that standard? I suppose so! :D

I like F more than W, but it was still low move from F. What's the purpose of that attack? If you kept riding, ignored the orders from the ear piece to take things into his own hand I will just have utmost respect for his gutsy move.

Apparently he din't, he slowed down. According to Frank, W was yelling slow down at some point, so F knew W was in some difficulty at that period of time.

So what is the real purpose? I can think of two, 1. he gambled on no orders would come from DS, in that case he can just ride away. 2. that obviously did not happen, but he still played the image that he was a team player that he took orders without questioned asked, more importantly at the same time he tested the media reactions to his move, tons of media actually backed his back by saying he is the strongest and the strongest should win. My conclusion that actually is a calculated and very successful move. He might do something in the pyrenees, let's wait and see.

Interesting post. I do hope that he attacks again in the pyrenees and this time keeps going. He is clearly the strongest climber in the race so why not go for it?

No not clearly.

I think Froome would have got 30-40 secs at most leaving him more than a minute down. He might be able to get more time back in the Pyrenees, but he'd get owned in the final TT. Wiggo is the man.

Apologies Swede, I reread your post, Froome is clearly the best climber in the race, I concur.

I think Sky were right to tell Froome to slow down. He is payed well to support Wiggo to win the tour.

A sky 1-2 would be great but it's not worth risking BW losing time to his rivals because his own team mate attacked. Froome should still get 2nd overall anyway as Nibali/Evans/VDB would have to be at least 2 minutes clear of him going into that final TT next week.

Hopefully Sky have told Froome to support BW this year then he can get his chance next year. Froome v Contador would be fantastic to watch and i think Froome would just shade it because of his good TT.
