Apparently ASO are looking to exclude Froome, offered him a 6 month offer but he refused. News at 10.

This doesn't parse well. Who offered him that and from when? ASO certainly didn't.
It's actually quite an interesting (**** up) offer: if he can lose the World's bronze then he'd also lose the Giro.
Not if it is 6 months I think.

Not if it were 6 months from the AAF, but yes, if one is on the table surely both are.

It’s from Gazetta today, appears to be new news. But says Froome belives he can be acquitted. I think he likes his credibility :)

The actual Tweet, it should be noted, did not come from La Gazzetta. It came from a Spanish account, COPEdaleando. Doubtlessly the person who posted it to the Clinic did not mean to deliberately mislead. They just did it by accident.

No it came from Gazetta via Copedeando. Not sure why you’re baiting and attempting to mislead the forum (again).

Link to tweet here, with its internal link back to Gazetta: https://twitter.com/copedaleando/status/1001739473825214465?s=21

Is it not a 'please dont ride the Tour it will be too mad for you, come back when its sorted' sort of offer and not a ban?

Based on the tweet I think the first part is sabre rattling from ASO. The second part is the problem as there is no indication where this offer supposedly came from.

There's no link to a Gazzetta tweet or a Gazzetta story there.

Here's a link to Gazzetta's recent Tweets containing Froome's name. Notice what's not there?

This is semantics and you're both right. The tweet quoted was not from La Gazetta, but the information contained within was. Lets not make this a big deal.

Agreed. It’s not important as the actual content. Thanks KB.

On. What. Planet. ???

This is the problem round here recently, so many are so obsessed with the notion of secret deals, backroom agreements, that anything can now be said.

It is a shame there isn't more info because as it stands it isn't very helpful. It's probably in La Gazetta but I don't speak Italian.

Rather than worry about the Clinic, perhaps all vested parties attempted to broker a deal? Not out of the question considering what’s at stake.

It's happened before!

If the information contained within came from Gazzetta, sourcing it to Gazzetta, with an actual link to Gazzetta, matters. Sources matter. Any old nonsense is being posted recently without being checked and people are being asked to just believe.

I wasn't claiming that sources don't matter and it would have helped if a hard link to the tweet were included but as it was just passing information and no link to an article was removed from the tweet I think we should all just leave it at that.

So we're past semantics now? I can find one English report on a new Gazzetta story saying ASO want to use the disrepute clause on Froome, but nothing in it about a six-month deal. Can you fare better?

To be clear the tweet stayed “Informa la @Gazzetta_it” as in “information from” - ie they were the source for a yet printed story and or/Gazetta radio or TV.

It’s in the tweet. Not sure how it can be any clearer, even for FMK (I think he might be baiting though).

The original Tweet opens: "informa la @Gazzetta_it". The reported Tweet opens: "la @Gazzetta_it". Clearly, no attempt to mislead. Just one of those errors that happens all the time.

No. It’s correct as stated. The error was on your side. Now let’s move on to the actual content, yes?

Flamme Rouge with a bit more info:

https://twitter.com/laflammerouge16/status/1001710879107420161

Rumours around Rome about 6 months and ASO sabre rattling.

It's in todays Gazzetta so I don't know when it will appear online, or if it will. Maybe an Italian member or a regular reader will know how well the online stuff reflects the print addition.

Today's Gazzetta on Froome case: ASO is ready to exclude Froome from #TDF2018 if Salbutamol's case won't have been solved. There were rumors in Rome of a proposed deal of a 6 months ban plus losing Vuelta and Worlds bronze. Froome refused becaus he wants to exit completely clean

Lappartient was in Rome so perhaps there to try and work on a “peace deal” but looks like Froome wants beat the rap and win it all.

Or perhaps he was there for the end of a big and important bike race. But hey, spin the best conspiracy theory you can...

Yeah, that tweet from Flamme Rouge I posted just before this post.
