Greg Henderson must have been riding on a different Ventoux as the TV images clearly showed a head to cross wind.

I would've thought a ;) or similar would be at the end of the tweet!

But if he is known for heavy sarcasm then I will take it as that.

References for his sarcasm;
Some earlier TDF tweets:

I could tell the heat and climb was really effecting @marcelsieberg. First time he has shut up all tour. More heat for the next days please.

Greg Henderson ‏@Greghenderson1 6 juli
Hey @AndreGreipel. All you have to do is 565w for 20mins after 5hrs racing to hang onto Froome. Less raving more concentración por favor

Instead of talking about Froome, people should be asking themselves why Contador is climbing so much slower than in 2009, even if in 2009 he climbed Bonascre and Ventoux not pushing by any means.

Ignoring, of course, the intervening 4 years??

Well said.
And hey, since everyone must be under the 5.88w'kg estimate then everyones clean, shut The Clinic - we won.

I looked at who he was with and how they all responded - Froome went from 7km out. That in itself is crazy. It was like watching Rasmussen in 2007.

Yep I was thinking the same thing....this performance had Rasmussen all over it. I actually want Froome to win, but it is kind of hard to defend froome when he is looking like pantani on that climb.

That is good enough for me and it should be for everyone.
Greg is giving Chris the respect he is due. Hats off to both.
And I'm sure Greg also respects the work Tim Kerrison
has done evaluating the power meter data and fine
tuning the high altitude training camp work loads.

So Froome would only have beaten Wiggins by 10 seconds, and that was from a time in 09 when there was a head wind, plus Wiggins wasn't as good as he is now. Yet everyone is saying Wiggins would have got absolutely trashed.

Poor old Wiggo.

We would have had similar reactions in 2000 if we saw Armstrong chasing Pantani up the Ventoux. Lance was smarter though. Didn't accelerate further and let Pantani have the victory. Froome got greedy, went full ***, got the win and crashed the CN server.

Bad call dawg! Now he'll take more time on the ITT and pretend to struggle going up the Alps. Its going to be tough braking all the way up the D'Huez though.

If there is a lot of ITT next year Wiggo should try and claim leadership back ;)

don't think Froom will lose much in ITT against W, on the other hand he will drop W like stone in the mountain. So no matter what course, W is no opponent against this year Froom

The stats show Wiggins would have equalled Froome today. It's real shame he wasn't fit for the tour - it looks like he would have been the only rider to challenge Froome on the big climbs.

You'll never know. What you will know is that Wiggens beat Froome last year in the TDF. He also beat him squarely in the Olympic TT. Wiggins has a palmares that Froome can only dream of at the moment.

I don't dispute that the Froome we are seeing at the moment might re-write the record books though....the operative word being "might".

what stats? Please be specific. W never showed him as an excellent climber, W never showed he can handle sudden acceleration like Froom produced today.
