If your best result is finishing right behind Andrey Zeits (more than a year younger) in a GT ...
You aren't exactly anywhere near the league of GT-winning riders

I think it's impossible to say with any certainty, there are too many variables involved, known and unknown. All I am saying is he wasn't a complete donkey.

Bear in mind this was before Froome says he contracted bilharzia. No, he wasn't a complete donkey. But this was his level pre-August 2011- incredibly and undeniably average.

Yes, Froome could occasionally follow the tempo on transient climbs, but the bug gave him consistency and the edge to be in the final with the best.

He wasn't a complete donkey, I agree. I've known his name since Giro delle Regioni, always expected the guy to do decent things as a pro.

But if Andrey Zeits would suddenly win the Giro this year, would you not be sceptical?

How could he be sceptical?

Zeits has never tested positive or been banned and maybe he's had the Kazakhstan version of badzilla.

You would have expected a guy who finished top 35 in his first GT aged 22 while being well down in the team hierarchy to at least have a better career than he subsequently did.

Shows how incredibly doped up Astana was in 2009 and why some comparisons may be be a bit difficult to make

Wow, fascinating contribution there, thanks for that...

I'm sorry! I promise that in future I'll aim to match the high levels of fascinating contribution to internet forums you've provided over the years, don't give up on me Martin.

When you're not busy sending bad guys to jail :D maybe you could write a book about how to post, what to post and what not to post on an internet forum.

This is the first time in the sky era the tour isnt an automatic win for them. Lets see how they respond.

I predict the badzilla will mysteriously come back and Froome will take a holiday on Tenerife, after which he will emerge in full alien mode.

Yes, you did.

Now who's the liar.

I said I think she is lying as she appears not have informed the police of such a serious threat.

But you keep stirring this......

You mean like the way you and others THINK Froome is doping but not that he is doping...

No way they use the bilharzia again. They take people for fools, but they closed the bilharzia story in December 2013. Though Froome says you can never get rid of it, so who knows- maybe it will make a reappearance.

That really lasted a long time!

i said not very active, just diminished activity ;)

there is a new (or old) disgusting doper in town that needs more attention compared to defending the obvious clean Sky team.

Wasn't Wiggans meant to be a contender in 2011 before he crashed out. I thought at the time it was said 'form of his life' etc?

That's correct.

Funny how Dr. Leinders magic worked wonders.

nice nitpicking. Im talking about the sky doping era.

in 2012 and 2013 there was no doubt who was going to win the tour at this time of the year.

Sorry I'm confused - according to posters on here the (so called) SKY 'doping era' started with Leinders didn't it? I thought he was employed in late 2010 - so why didnt they win anything significant in 2011? And he left in 2012 so how come they were winning in 2013 - does his advice have some kind of 12m delayed action?
