"I think one of the big differences with our team, when I compare it to other teams, is that all eight teammates of mine are focused on one goal. If you look at other teams, they've got a sprinter, they've got two GC riders, they're trying to put guys in the break for stages," Froome said after the finish on Wednesday. "There's a lot of different things happening but I've got eight guys, nine including me, dedicated to one goal and that makes a big difference."

In 2012 Sky had a sprinter that won 3 stages; EBH that got multiple top 3 in tougher finishes and was in breaks; 2 GC riders that got 1-2 and Froome even got a stage win himself. So it wasn't exactly "one goal". But he probably means that other teams can't have more than one goal if they should even have the slightest possibility to defeat Sky.....

I'm enjoying the performances from Movistar's renowned sprinter...er....Herrada?

Disc wheel on a mountainous TT... interesting. Defo going full *** today

Nah, he going to do the "having a bad day" routine and loose a handful of seconds to keep the heat off of him

When this guy gets popped it's gonna be hilarious. What a disgusting sportsman. Him and Cound are perfect for each other

I find it ironic how you bash Froome for doping yet love Contador Nibali and co

Froome is Armstrong on Ricco steroids. He's one of the biggest dope abusers in the history of all sport. He didn't even try today FFS and still smashed the supposedly best hilly TT guy in the world atm.

Another ITT victory for the Dawg

You mean, another afternoon spin class completed by the Roadrunner.

Another absolutely incredible performance from Froome today, he is the 100m sprinter, the 1500m runner and the marathon man all rolled into one. The gap between him and the rest is phenomenal. Now that its done and dusted its time for him to wind it down and lose his customary few seconds in the last few mountain stages.

It was a MTT for goodness sake. Why come here and act all surprised? He was always the favourite under any circumstance.

It's embarrassing. I don't know what to say anymore. It's Lance and US Postal all over again + some magic transformation. Disgusting.

I tend to agree, this was 'post transformation' Froome, bread and butter.

Ax 3 Domaines was embarassing. Ventoux that same year was embarassing. Pierre Saint Martin was embarassing.

This wasn't. This was expected.

Of course you are correct, this morning I don't think anyone could be in any way surprised that this would happen.

Now rewind back to August 2011 and if you had predicted any of this would be happening you would be sent away to be sectioned. That is the surprise.

They might be new. I don't mean that in a bad way.

It's sold as a sport and the more interested you get in it, you discover it's not a sport at all. It's wrestling entertainment on wheels.

As if PSM wasn't expected. Froome has long ceased to evoke surprise when he crushes a time trial or MTF. That isn't what people refer to when they call it embarrassing, much like Armstrong didn't cease being embarrassing in 2005.

People rightly suggesting in the MTT discussion that Dumurain is too heavy to contest Dawg in this terrain... so consequently, Vroom is too skeletal and light to contest Dumurain in Rio... unless... there will be a magic of Great Reverse Transformation.

Gain weight, gain watts.

Remember, before it was "Lose weight, gain watts".

I'm afraid they will repeat the cycle few times and Vroom goes to 10 w/kg, perpetuum mobile style.

I agree but it's even more depressing that something like this is not even a surprise anymore.

We're talking about a guy that soft-pedals one-day races despite having the engine to dominate them. I'd be surprised if he even shows up.

My point was that something like this would never be surprising. By ''expected'' I didn't mean we being so used to surreal stuff that today's result would just makes us shrug. By being the best climber in the field, which Froome is, him winning a MTT is believable in itself.

Does anyone know, are any serious investigative journalists digging in to these Froome and Sky performances?
If not, why not?

If they are doping someone really needs to do the work to expose it.
