all according plan Froome fake to be vulnerable and now his win will be more plausible , good job Froome you are a great actor

Nice call; you got it right 100%.
Yep. I expected it today or tomorrow. Kept the motor off. I was waiting for the switch on but when it did not happen, I said okay wants to play the human card today. The real deal, this is my REAL climb level.

I don't think anyone is singing, hey Froome is done, its the motor, man. One day it will malfunction.

Does anyone here doubt that Froome will be back to "normal" tomorrow ??

was thinking about something Sean Kelly remarked on when Froome had the mechanical at the foot of the climb and KWIATKOWSKI gave him his bike. (in the TDF)

Kelly said that it was odd that another domestique less important than Kwiatkowski would have given up his bike.

Well it makes sense if Kwiatkowski also had a motorised bike.

I guess he had one when he was in other teams too, winning the WC etc

If he recovers and wins it I will be surprised tbh. I think you are reading too much into it, he's just knackered.

Sorry I had to chuckle. Its the motor, man. He can be all tired, the motor will get him where he wants. He just took a break today to fool peers. Although his peers should know the plan by now

The motor is a Sky thing. They all have it. Amazing how so many domestiques are powering up hills. Not even US Postal had that many. I do shudder though that so many people are involved. LA kept it tight.

I agree he just let the others ride away today, he isn't knackered at all. If you watch him he only loses 40 seconds and isn't exactly mashing the peddles. He just rides behind MN the whole way up. If he was really struggling he could have lost a shed load of time. He's playing the game and the commentators are buying it (Kelly maybe not so much)

Well, this is as I expected. Although he looked a lot worse than I thought. Still, I fully anticipate a return to normal service tomorrow.

Of course, I hope he really has cracked and will now collapse. But I doubt it. unless they have been told leading all the jerseys and winning a second GT looks too dodgy and invites just too much scrutiny.

Get a grip guys, this "Froome is just acting when he's ***"-theory is completely ridiculous.
"He didn't use his motor yesterday" is marginally less fantastical, but a competitor like him deliberately sabotaging a goal he's been working on for half a decade is Big Foot level absurdity.

it's not big foot level of stupidity because if you want to make it look credible you just need to have a bad day ,but suddenly after that you are right there again

Have to agree. I don't normally come into this part of la la land, it makes me feel like most of the posters are doped up!

Exactly. Faking weakness which results in nearly halving your lead just to appease a few fans is a half-baked theory at the best of times. Doing so a few days before tackling probably the hardest climb in pro cycling, and one where you have lost the race before, is ludicrous. What could be the motivation for doing so?

My theory is that some of the more bizarre theories in threads like this are started and spread by Sky sympathisers (or maybe Sky PR themselves :surprised: ), so that they can highlight the tin-foil hat beliefs of their 'detractors'. Thereby also tainting by association all the far better supported allegations against them.

Didn't Walsh did use Froome having a bad day at the 2013 tour de France as evidence that he was clean.
anda tactic for months prior to the race. Even though Froome obliterated the TDF by 5 minutes.

Same with how big a deal they made out of the fact that Wiggins didn't win the MTF in 2012. I mean he beat Nibali by 6 minutes, was a handful of seconds from going 21 days in the yellow jersey BUT omg he didn't win an mtf he's clean.

Not really sure of your point here? There's no disputing that Froome has had bad days to some extent in most GTs he's entered, the discussion is whether or not these are calculated decisions to make the race appear closer. In 2013 the race was never close, so that clearly wasn't the reason. And to deliberately lose time in this Vuelta, making it uncomfortably tight, just makes no sense for a team as ruthless as Sky.

The fact that some shill like Walsh retrospectively points to bad days as evidence of being clean is inevitable and clear opportunism. But that is a world away from Sky deliberately engineering bad days into a GT to placate the crowd.

So all the talk about the motor , even on television, and Froome then has a catastrophic day - and for Froome that was a disastrous day !

He was putting on a brave face at the finish - he was knackered !! he actually looked embarassed. Coughing and saliva dripping out of his mouth - havent seen that for a while from him.

All the motorised bike in the media being discussed and WE SEE FROOME have a bad day !

No coincidence.
