Someone should ask Michelle why she told Chris's parents they werent welcome at the Tour on the last day when he won and why he has not spoken to his friends or family back home since she popped on the scene.

Really? That sounds absurd. I know Michelle is kinda crazy but wtf..

Just thinking about the Lance doping saga and trying to forecast where Froome will end up when he gets caught.

The idea of a person's legacy in cycling is really hard to predict. It depends mostly on if he does get caught, not how much he doped. Look at the end of TDF 2013 where Miguel Indurain was celebrated as a grand champion after the final stage. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if in 15 years Froome was portrayed as a forerunner of the new clean generation of cycling champions. Quite ironic.

Yes, that must be it. Funny that all his friends and co say the same thing. All cant be telling the truth. Weird.

Do you have a link to this story? On the face of it, given his mother's death, it seems fictional, so further explanation would be useful.

+1. They did get together in 2011 around the time he joined Team Sky. I would imagine that life got a lot busier for him at that time and has been ever more so since then, so I would imagine family and friends would have heard less from him since then - even without Michelle.

He joined Sky in 2010.

He was at his brother's wedding in late 2010 when he had the bilharzia diagnosed.

He spends most of Summer in South Africa, training, apparently. You know, where baboons make off with his food and stuff?

It doesn't quite add up with what you are claiming, about having no time to see family and friends. But then doesn't necessarily add up to what Colonel is saying either.

i. e.

Sir Dave Brailsford believes that Sky's Chris Froome has avoided a potential dip in performance levels following his outstanding victory in the Tour de France last year and claims that only the odd incident with marauding baboons is hindering his off-season training.
...
"There are all these signs in the place where they're staying [in South Africa] saying, 'Don't leave your door open, baboons can come in and nick your food.' And they left their door open..."

The story was she wanted him and her to stay at the 6 star hotel on the Champs, alone.

Thus the friends and family weren't welcome as the stage that day finished very late.

He next day they shared breakfast, a tweet and then be went on the news in the UK.

They met just prior to his "rise" according to the book. Join the dots on that one.

Point taken and well made on the 2010 date. I wasn't claiming anything and certainly not that he doesn't have any time all. I just think it's fair to point out as a possible mitigating factor that over the last few years he'll have been far more in demand that if he had continued tootling round on his initial career trajectory - what with those undiagnosed tropical diseases, ineffective TT position and all that.

Not to say that Spoke-o Ono doesn't come across as more than a little controlling, so perfectly happy to hear more from the Colonel.

Maybe address the issue raised by del before proceeding?

Froome dedicated his Tour de France win to his mother, who died of cancer five weeks before his Tour debut in 2008

Was just watching the 2013 Tour stage 18 on Eurosport where they did L'Alpe twice and where Froome had his supposed "Sans Jour".

A curious thing is that he was on his radio all during the stage, dictating to Porte what tempo to cycle etc. Then with 4 KM to go, BAM, he goes crazy and flaps his arms about about looking for the team car. Making a big drama. All he had to do was talk to Porte via the radio (as he was doing all day) and send him back for feed. No fuss no drama. Looked blatantly like creating a deliberate talking point, "Look at me, I'm human".

Anyway his recovery from "The Bonk", which was instantaneous after a gel, also indicated that he made the whole thing.

Anyway, just an observance. Should stop watching reruns as it raises blood pressure!

The incident was another example of the amazing arrogance of Team Sky. Everyone was suffering, no doubt many had hunger knock, plenty of team cars had been held up, but they complied with the rules. It may seem a minor infraction but Dawg could have lost two minutes right there.

Did some research on Twitter regarding Froome. The comments made about him are overwhelmingly negative. Even found this gem!

Kimmage just tweeted that he spent three hours with Froome in Monaco this week.

This should be interesting.

How will you determine whether or not he has done 'a Walsh'?

I assume you don't just mean typos, poor research and dodgy biblical/Rhopaloceral metaphors:D
