OK then....

Journalist is offered chance to work as garmin soigneur for the delay and is a bit susprised. Garmin staff tell him its a brave move.

Journalist makes joke that if you subsequently hear news about millar or wiggins assaulting someone then it means that he wasn't very good at being a soigneur.

it took you three posts to be explicit. jeez.

that said, fair point.
still, it can't be a coincidence that Brad received the combativity award for "most aggressive rider" in stage 6 of the 2007 tdf. :)

I didn't quite have time an hour ago. Not sure if Wiggins is much of a brawler TBH unless he gets involved in any mod v rocker stuff. Thomas however, welsh rugby fan...

apologies then, that was my bad reading.
you could be right wrt wiggo. i wouldn't be able to dispute it.
that said, he's shown plenty of bullying. Especially troubling is him going after Landis and Kimmage.
Froome quite the opposite.

Froome is probably a more obvious doper still than Wiggins (although it's a close call), but if the argument against Lance keeping his TdF titles was that he was such a bully, well it's clear which of the two Sky riders deserves to fall first.

in 2009 Wiggo allegedly also kicked the crap out of somebody in a hotel hallway.

to keep it on topic: Wiggins and Cadel do make Chris look like a rather agreeable bloke.
Froome is more sinister. He takes out his mental issues on animals.

and we aint even talked mud wrestling and cath n cound alliterationz scrag fights beating blilevens bobby julich handbags at ten paces

I prefer Landis' droll aside of Wigan's mental state

Michael Rasmussen's Twitter is fantastic. He'll keep you in stitches. He posted this recently:

For some reason the Froome thread seemed like the right place for it.

Good grief, poor old Dawg can't even get his thread to stay on the front page of clinic. Then when you click on it, it's posts about Chicken. Poor uninteresting Dawg. :p

Bringing this over from the motor doping thread:

Doping is not enough! Some need motors in bikes as well! FFS!

Cutting out this line to save for posterity. Sounds like something the hog should photoshop onto the cover of Mein Climb. :D

Someday when it all comes out, some other journalist (not David Walsh) can write a book, go on a victory tour speechifying, and make a movie.

Book title:
Doping is Not Enough! Some Need Motors in Bikes As Well! The Chris Froome Story

Movie title:
Don't Call it a Tailwind

I know!

The Dawg has let us down this year. No super mutant attacks early in the season. Perhaps he is getting slow in his old age or everyone else now has a motor?

I did see the report on Sunday and his cadence looks suspiciously like a motor. Problem being is he'll never be caught once the moment has past. The UCI didn't even test for motors on PSM last year.

My only hope Thomas Geriant's motor goes faste than Dawgs and they attempt to sabotage each other.

I liked the part in the report about being able to activate the motor remotely by bluetooth device. Now we need some signal crossover, where some team activates the wrong rider's motor at some inopportune time. Oleg should have contacts who can arrange such things. Send Dawg's motor unexpectedly into high speed just as he's trying to take a whizz on the bike with teammates supporting him.

Dawg couldn't keep up with his own cadence on the ventoux 2013, seated accelleration, in the curve away from Alberto, even prompting Walsh to declare Alberto clean!

Well, last year, other than when he set a pace that made Contador explode spectacularly in Andalucia, he wasn't really that impressive outside the Tour.

I fear we won't see a dominant Dawg at Romandie and even the Dauphine. He might win those races, but riders that won't be able to be within 2 minutes of his Arcalis summit finish at the Tour will be competitive.

I agree. It seems that Froome in 2015 and 2016 has taken a more conservative approach, contrary to what he did in 2013 when he needed to assume himself

well, supreme demonstrations is definetely a very rare thing for one week races and in the 2013 (2015) Romandie and Dauphine other riders were always very competitive. that's quite reasonable to claim that froome's climbing advantange was minimal in those races both in 2013 and 2015.

Lol! Very true! Those cranks were going so fast he had to stay seated to stop himself from crashing! That was totally nutty, tailwind withstanding.

The only thing not moving that day was Dawg's heart rate! Kept it steady even when attacking!

1000w, 161bpm. Hmm. Seems likely.

This, and Hesjedal's self-driving bike are two of the most ridiculous things ever to be seen on a tour. Right up there with Ricco and Piepoli showboating during a mountain attack.
