It has been happening this way since always. If it nutters you so much, it's insane that you even started watching pro cycling.

It obviously 'nutters' you as well or you would not be posting here.

Difference between stage 15 and 18.. Froome was awful on 15. Blood bag? Or is it within normal pro cyclist physiology to have a downward form trend culminating with an awful day, followed by peak form performance a few days later?

His blood profile would be looking very sketchy at the moment. Froome has a very productive rest day.

Quintana performed better on Alp D Huez than LPSM. Thats also not normal cyclist physiology.
Even if he is doping, he's not taking any unfair advantage.
Lance won fair and square; he beat his competition. Emphatically. Dont think Ulrich cared whether Lance doped or not.
Dont think Quintana, Contador care whether Froome is juiced or not because all are.
Froome is better than them. Period.

As for Blood Bags, Quintana wouldve a better chance of piling up his as well as Contador, given they didnt ride the Olympics.

And MacBAir is right; Everybody who says Froome is doing this and that; Motor working blah blah.... and simultaneously glorifying their favourite rider in every way possible are the biggest hypocrites here.

If you have an issue with Sky PR, dont listen to it. Who says you have to? They have a job to do and they are doing it brilliantly.

Also, why do you people think its your job to explain to people that Sky is definitely doped? If someone believes they are, why ridicule them?

He didn't look particularly good a couple of days ago

not only that Astana helped Froome on stage 15 but Vino himself tell Cound the Astana's secrets of peaking in week 3 after being *** days before.

Quintana should be very warned about whats waiting for him on stage 20....

oh, that´s what I always say. dont listen to them.
cheer for his rivals, hope they crush him, hope people on the roads spit on him, but avoid Sky PR, it´s useless

So basically your saying don't read british newspapers or listen to british sports commentary. Turn on the tv but switch off the sound. Watch cycling, but diconnect your brain. Become illiterate. ;)

Oh the old hypocrisy thing oh how I laugh.

You're right it stinks and this is why people get so pissed at sky. Its not really the Sky PR it's the British media and the Sky /BC sycophants.

For example in my social media like most I have friends who are cyclists. One of my friends posted how because Nairo and Tinkoff had a good day the other day it's because they had chemical help.

Froomedawg crushes anyone on any day and it's because hes a superb athlete.

They just don't put two and two together. Yet when I say something it's me that's talking ***.

The Dawn will go mutant today it's gonna be laughable. I've watched one and a bit stages of this Vuelta because honestly the media BS from the Tour has been too much for me. You have Kirkby on ES chucking out BS of him inventing attacking on descents or Millar on ITV knocking a mix out over them because he needs to stay in with the crowd and not damage his business ventures.

Yet we have Bob Howden head of BC saying people like Rasmussen should be banned from the media hahaha laughable.

The bottom line is:
If you had to create the ultmate GT rider, he would be 99.99% resembling a guy named Christopher Froome.

And its upto you what you choose to ignore, like some here choose to ignore that other riders are dopers too and point fingers at just Froome because it suits their whims and fancies.

Also, about Contador and others doing well in the Junior circuit, we cant say when they started doping. 15, 16, 17, 18? Who knows? What we know is, back then in the European scene Juniors did drugs.(David Milar talks about it in his book). British were very new to the sport. And Froome is a Kenyan pretty much and didnt have the luxury knowing about drugs as much as the European kids. He had the usual clean phase before finally taking drugs like everybody has in their life. In cycling, a pro always reaches that fork on his path: to do it or not to do it.

He's doing nothing which others arent. He deserves his victories just like Lance does. Lance did everything better than his competition. Tyler Hamilton agrees that Lance beat him fair and square at the Tour.
Im sure Quintana does too.

Again, he didn't have an awful day performance-wise on Stage 15 - Sky got done over tactically. Froome's actual performance, poweroutput-wise, was probably normal for him on that stage. He just got caught napping. Props to Contandor.

i really hope Froome goes all out today on stage 20

he was always an entertaining climber but 2016 lacks nuclear blast climbing performances, i really hope he puts the PR caution away and does a 6.5 w/kg over 1 hour today.

that ofc if he can, i don't believe he can

for a Vuelta he can digest Vayer's, Tucker's and Kimmage's outrage for a few days :D

The final climb isn't long enough to get the time he needs. He'll have to go sooner. Let's see.

I dont think he's gonna take more than a few seconds in the finale, if anything.
I hope im wrong. It would be massive if he can take the overall.

Nobody can tell you except his close circle. Maybe Bobby J knows too.
Anything else is just speculation.
And the point here is that Froome has done what everybody is doing. Nothing more. Nothing less.
We cant know how Quintana came to be one of the worlds best climber. We cant know how Domoulin became so incredible in the past year.
Every body is different and its the athlete how knows what suits him better.

Because we have controls in place. They cant do more than a certain limit. Okay?
Which is not even the point.
A counter question for you: Do you think Lance did more than others?
Before answering, just remember his quote: Whatever youre doing, they're doing more.

I'm interested in silvergrenade's assertion that Chris Froome is 99% what a GT rider looks like.

There was a time the press - and I talk about the European press, not the British press - thought that Jan Ullrich was exactly what a 7/8/9 times GT winner looked like. Hinault, Anquetil, Merckx, Fignon, Lemond even Indurain have all been exactly what a GT rider looks like. And they look nothing like Froome.

If you mean that Froome combines the twin attributes of climbing and TT ability, it's perhaps interesting to consider the ever changing narrative around him. Michelle Cound has said he was a climber and not a time triallist. We hear commentators acclaiming his attacks in one race and then claiming that he has always climbed at his own pace. Now he's a time triallist the equal of the specialists.

My point is, Merckx, Anquetil, Hinault et al were a type of rider - in this case a GT rider - with a consistency of style and approach. Froome is an aggressive attacker in one race and then a pace rider in another and yet both are claimed as the 'real' Froome. But which is it? The man's a chameleon and for that, utterly fascinating, but 99% what a GT rider looks like?

I suppose so in the brave new post truth world

it's the balance of probabilities...did/does every top GT rider cane drugs since they were 15 vs did one gangly intermediate pro about to lose his ride start taking an industrial dose to suddenly transform? (cue Steve Cram's quote)

you know where the smart money would go on that one....

By 99.99% I meant, if hypothetically we had to create the perfect GT rider, it would resemble Froome. Not in the way he looks, but what he represents.
As you mentioned, the twin capabilities of being the best climber in the world as well as being the best TTer amongst his GT rivals by a huge margin. And not just that, but also his mental strength and the tenaciousness he shows on the bike. How good he is with the media and the people around him. How people who work for him really like him and respect him, both as a rider and as a person. As for what MC said, I'd like a link to that.
Makes little sense, considering the fact that I've read an interview of Froome in 2009 claiming that with experience he can climb as well as TT well. When I find it, I'd edit this post and put it up.

The hypothetical creation feels so much like the mutant the colonel made out of his son in X men.

The meat:
CW: Define yourself as a bike rider.
CF: I’m a long-distance time triallist and climber, I’m best in stage races. Short prologues are definitely not my thing, I need time for my legs to warm up properly.
