So, we have now come to the point in your argument, where having the winning instinct is no longer important for WINNING a GT...
First Pinot was a winner, then you realised he's not, and all of a sudden, having a winning instinct somehow doesn't matter anymore (because he's Pinot).
Consistency is important in GT's but based on that alone, you cannot win. You need to be extraordinary in most cases, and Pinot, frankly, doesn't have that last bit, currently.

5 victories against 0 in 2013/14 combined speaks for itself ;)

Wow, how about stop putting words in my mouth the next time? this was never ever about Pinot being a winner or not, but a simple comparison between Majka and Pinot.

And when did I ever say it's important to have a winning instinct to win a gt in the first place? You were the one who implied it was important, so this 'all of a sudden, it doesn't matter anymore' makes no sense at all either.

Btw, you really think any of Majka's wins had anything to do with having a winning instinct? someone with Majka's legs and the instinct of a turtle would have won those races too.

I think we're going to see some massive surprises in the following years. Let's imagine we're in 2008. If I said that Wiggins, Froome, Hesjedal, Cobo and Horner were ALL going to win a GT somewhere in the future, you would call me stupid.

Nope Horner was a given. :p

Why would I do that?

Castroviejo was supposed to start focusing in 1 week races then into GTs cuz his TT is awesome but he needs to improve A LOT his climbing skills but I think is not going to happen. Then you have Igor Anton and Benat Intxausti that are the safe bets that are going to lead the spanish armada for the next years but yeah... Spain doesnt have a very good future after AC, Bala and Purito.

I would say I.Izzagirre would be their best bet for the future, he is very all-round and seems to be steadily emerging as one of Movistar's strongest domestiques.

Okay, Tony Martin to win the Tour de France 2018, you heard it here first. Panzerwagen to destroy France. Hmm, somewhere I heard that line before ...
