No, I had heard that Johan had info about White/Del Moral/Lowe and was using it to try to keep Matt quite and out of the US. While I have heard it from multiple sources I do not know how real it is. Given the Hog's past actions, and connections to Del Moral, it would not be surprising.

Sorry, but what do you mean by keeping White out of the US? As in, enter America and we give this info to the FDA?

Some interesting tweets by Neal Rogers editro of Velo News

@Ride_Argyle statement claims Trent Lowe sent PDF of UCI blood work, with del Moral's name on letterhead, to team doc and @Vaughters in 2009

@Ride_Argyle statement claims that in breach of contract negotiations, Lowe demanded €500,000 or he would go public with del Moral visit

Lowe threatened to release certain info on garmin unless they payed him 1/2 a million euros. Slipstream now have said that Lowe went to del Moral for health checks every quarter.

Wow! From the next big thing to low life blackmailer. Methinks Lowe might have a few problems getting future contracts.

Lowe: "Give me the money or the douchebag gets it!"

Half a million euros yikes.

Who does Trent think he is - Pat Mcquaid?

Tossing the 500k in is an interesting move to make him look like a Low-life. I wonder if there's any documentary evidence of this? If that part isn't true -- he did just want his December paycheck -- then this whole thing is looking worse.

If he was getting checked every quarter and Garmin knew of it, WTF?

Well Lowe did turn pro for The Hog, so who know's what he might have learnt. Fair to say he has burnt a few bridges now. But has Lowe actually said anything about the allegations?

As for the team bike thing, I thought it was common practice when a guy switches team, at the end of October he hands his old bike back (or keeps it), and for the following season he rides his new bike, but has to wear the kit of his old team until December 31 (for example when Danny Pate switched to HTC, he would have to wear his Garmin kit until December 31 2010, but from November onwards he rides a Specialized bike, the one he would use in 2011).

My opion: there's no way they knew about it. I'm sure a lot of people aren't going to buy the company line that "they didn't see it", but I have zero doubt it's true.

There's no delicate way to say why I believe this to be the case, so I'll just say it: if they had seen in June of '09 that he was seeing Del Moral, they'd have quickly sent him packing since he was sick, and they really don't like paying sick riders. He was pretty much written off after the ToC in '09.

They've have jumped at a chance to unload that guy if they had the chance.

Seems to me that given the public stance of Slipstream on matters doping and that this was a blood value (that needed to be copied to the boss) especially one not conducted by the team's medical advisors -- that at least one of the team doctor or JV would have looked at it!! Especially one they believed did not require supervision by a qualified doctor (or was this convenient after the event?).

If they are to be believed then Michele Ferrari could come to a team meeting without them noticing!

That's a very interesting and valid point.

What seems the most odd about all of this is that Lowe seems to have been willing to blackmail Slipstream based on the his own actions!
That just seems like a particularly twisted threat, as if to say, "Pay up, or I'm going to reveal what I myself did."

If we follow that logic further: Lowes is acknowledging something damaging, or at the very least scandalous in his own behavior. So how would he then be able to walk away without being tarnished?
Would he have gone on to claim something like, "Oh yeah, there was doping going on at Garmin...ME! See how bad those guys (me) are over there under JV's watch?"

Very strange indeed.

This story isn't over yet.

What a mess, Velonation does not quite get the point I think..

So, Trent asked for 0,5 million euro for keeping his mouth shut regards Del Morals other connections to Garmin. Lowe has had illnesses and chronic fatigue past 2 years, and with the Pegasus fallout, maybe he just wanted to leave the sport.. Does he have a contract for 2011 with anyone?

Almost shades of Floyd. I bet we have not seen the end of this story.

If I were Trent Lowe, and I knew other guys on the team were doping, I would bring them all down.
