Thor Hushovd is going to win the last mountain stage of the race thus taking the GC lead and then win the final (most boring (is Vino attending?)) stage by knocking Caven(cannot stand hearing his name every 5 seconds in the broadcast)dish over and scaring everyone else with his Mjölnir.

That would give us one peeved ACF.

And as of tomorrow a different Spanish rider will climb onto the podium :D

if the worst happens,it will be the podium of wikipedia, nobody cares about that if you saw the race.ask sammy about it, he will tell you "go away with your virtual podium,i don't care about it".

and to be on-topic,i think some of you take this thread seriously...it shouldn't happen.

That's pure bluff, he has the opportunity of a lifetime, and he won't waste it.

He will certainly try until the first serious mountain stage has ended.

Then we'll see him with his mouth open and a trail of drool falling from him like he does when time trials.

I can see one scenario where Tony Martin could place higher GC wise. If Andy Schleck is more than 2'30" behind the leaders after stage 9 (38km TT), Brueneel might force a change in the team leadership.

I don't see Tony Martin that close.

How did Martin do last season on mountain stages : pretty poorly. If they both ride their regular TTs and Martin improves about 100% in the mountains then he has a chance but can't see it happening. As for finishing in the top ten. They both should but if one was going to miss out I would pick Martin if he climbs as badly as last year. Martin should move up the GC after each TT as he will be aiming to win both of them. If he is not bothered with riding for a top 10 finish, he probably will win both of the TTs unless Cancellara bounces back to form or one of the GC riders does something exceptional.

First GC rider.

Perhaps my view was not clear in the first place. If Andy Schleck' team decides to ride for somebody else after a poor performance in the 2nd TT, tactics could simplt dictate expending him for others benefit. The result could be loosing 10-30 mins for Andy. In such a case I could see Martin ending up higher in the GC.

Tbh Martin is quite decent hilly rider. Look at Paris Nice results in 2011, he did very well in all hilly races. It's the long mountain he always struggles.

1. DI GREGORIO Remy AST 5h46'23"
2. SANCHEZ GONZALEZ Samuel EUS 05"
3. URAN URAN Rigoberto SKY 05"
4. KLÖDEN Andreas RSH 07"
5. MARTIN Tony THR 07"

1. KLÖDEN Andreas RSH 4h59'00"
2. SANCHEZ GONZALEZ Samuel EUS
3. CARRARA Matteo VCD
4. MARTIN Tony THR

Last year Paris Nice btw.

I know that Andy is a whiner but this poll is still ridiculous.

Of course Andy will do better.

If Tony wins Pais Vasco he is a serious threat to S:Schleck

If the Tour follows Pais Vasco and removes all the hard stages, then Tony will win Le Tour.

ofc. . . . the tour could have 200k of itt and schleck would still finish ahead of tony martin. one proper mountain stage is all he needs to cover the deficit from the itt's to tony martin.

C'mon Parrulo, fellow Nibali fanboy, you can do better than that! Was Tony riding for GC last year? He had zero motivation to finish with the leaders that day. Try again
