Well you could, justifiably, expand this to saying that, "some big names train in Africa" .... after all, this was the only authorized Lab in the entire continent !

and Mo had only just moved from Kenya to Ethiopia after finding out how rampant that doping was there; hows a clean athlete to find a suitable training location

Enrico Gasaparotto and Bjorn Thurau -both of the Wanty Groupe Gobert team, did not start the Dauphine stage today. They reportedly were stopped after tests revealed they had low cortisol levels.

I actually think it's pretty cool that MPCC has that rule about having to sit out races for at least eight days if your cortisol levels are too low. Because while it could probably be an indicator of cheating it's mainly for the rider's own health.

An experienced rider who's been in the women's péloton over a decade, but only had a couple of years at the top teams, one with Rabo (her least successful year, but hard to read much into that as she was well down the totem pole there) and one with MCipollini-Giordana. For the last three years she's been bouncing around Russian domestic races and smaller Italian events, however, and was riding for the Astana team this year, although it is fair to point out that she had not raced for them since Gracía-Orlová in late April and they had removed her from provisional startlists throughout the intervening period. The team have moved to distance themselves from the 33-year-old who they claim they had disputes with over race calendar, likely the product of the Olympic year.

Tatyana Antoshina is down to ride the Tour de Feminin (WE2.2) in the Czech Republic on Thursday with a Russian national team. She won the TT stage last year in the same event, put over 30s into the second place rider in less than 22 mins, a big margin.

Any formal link between Astana's men's and women's teams? Any triggering of final warnings to the whole set-up?

The Astana women's team basically came from the original BePink squad set up in Italy around Noemi Cantele and Alena Amialiusik, with Kazakh sponsors coming in to keep the team going in 2014. The original team was Italian with a few Eastern Bloc riders. In 2015, however, the two apparatuses split apart due to changes in direction, with Cantele who had been the main driving force behind the team retiring and Amialiusik moving on. With the Estado de México team collapsing, Astana moved to set up their own team which mixed some of the remnants of that team with the young Kazakhs they had been adding to BePink, and BePink mixing some remnants of their own team with a few from elsewhere. Connection to the men's Astana team is pretty minimal.

Good that he's been busted and probably good for him too, that many prohibited substances in his system can't be good.
