A new UCI race is to be held in Wales next year. Called the 'Velethon Britain'. No details on the route but it'll be held in South Wales.

Organised by British Cycling and the company who runs Vattenfall Cyclassics. Starting at 1.2 but aiming to be World Tour by 2014.

Some details here http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest/530268/wales-to-host-pro-one-day-race-in-2012.html and here http://www.velothon-britain.co.uk/

Good to see more road races in Britain.

I'd like to see a couple one day races in britan. there is some pretty nice terrain to use.

Kittel is confirmed to be riding the Sun Tour. He is going to have a field day in this race :p
Forgot to post full skil Shimano team: Marcel Kittel, Mitch Docker, Simon Geschke, Tobias Ludvigsson, Koen de Kort & Alexandre Geniez.

I am happy they have made it 6 man teams. Anything more can cause things to be too controlled. Will get some good racing. Reminder for the aussies that we will get evening highlights and the final two stages live. The internationals who want to watch Herald Sun Tour can watch on the cycling central site through a feed.

The team formerly known as Skil-Shimano will have a new name sponsor as of next year, a European multinational who will only be introduced during the classics "for strategic reasons". The team will have a significantly higher budget, also because of their new material sponsor Felt.

Yeah, I kind of mixed up there. It's 1t4i. Which, according to the Skil website (incidentally, the URL of this website is 1t41.com) stands for 1 team, inspiration-improvement-integrity-innovation.

I.e. the usual marketing bull****.

It would be nice having at least one team with the motto "We are clean, we are here to win, f*** the rest". You know, just plain speaking.

I do feel sorry for Guardini missing out on the under 23 mens WC. It ended in a sprint and he could have won. He's beat Cav this year and even Kittel, that is enough for him to be selected. The Italians are however trying to change their system and they need to do it soon.
